Morning Everyone
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you've gone back to bed!
Wet and windy this morning with thunder storms due later. I have visitors tonight and tomorrow night, my 'other son' (DS2's best pal who moved in with us when he was younger), his partner and little one. House all clean and tidy but I'm sure the little 3 year old will change that! Shame I'll be at work but will be so good to see them, they are touring Scotland in their camper.
That must have been a scare with your DM dp1, glad everything is ok. Thinking of the little one, is it today she has the casts put on?
My work situation seems to have hit another brick wall, we can't agree on working times so not sure what happens next. We were supposed to receive a letter yesterday outlining the decision but of course that didn't happen. My colleague isn't speaking to me but at least I got a lot of work done!
I haven't heard about my car yet so will continue to enjoy driving the nice replacement although I really don't know what half the things do and I can't connect the phone!
Hugs to everyone in need, take care. XX

Morning again, it's now daylight and fine here.
Camelot, I haven't gone back to bed, I know I was up ridiculously early, but I wouldn't sleep if I went back. I'll probably nod off for half an hour on the sofa this afternoon. I have a friend who goes to bed at 11pm every night, sleeps all night, and wakes at 8am the next morning. I so wish I could do that.
Sorry to see that your working hours are still not sorted out. Hope something is settled soon.
Glad your Mam was ok Dp1, that would have been a bit of a shock for you.
Chrisca, I think you were going to the dentist yesterday? Hope you are ok.
Thoughts to the sad, poorly and sleepless - take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It looks a bit damp out there so there must have been light rain o/n. All fine now with a bit of sun trying to emerge but apparently we can expect thunderstorms later.
Yesterday was a worrying day for me as DD had to go for the magnetic seed thing implanted, followed by the dye. Both involved a local anaesthetic so she was there quite a while, She is back today for the pre-op assessment, ready for the lumpectomy next week. Her and eldest DGD are off to London for a couple of nights early doors tomorrow, and the long awaited Bon Jovi show. She is looking forward to a few hospital free days.
I am meeting DF for lunch today, unless I hear differently. She is still having rings round with the surgery about her DH's health problems.
Thinking of our poorlies, sad or lonely. Is today the day for the casts DP1. CAMELOT grr to the school not sorting things out. Take care all be safe x

Morning all
A very rainy day here which is expected to last all day. Washing will go upstairs on the airer for the first time in ages.
Dentist gave me a clean bill of health and the hygienist bit wasn't quite as bad as the first time or was it that I was expecting torture?
Message from the NHS app so I've booked my flu jab for beginning of October which is the first date that was offered.
A baking day today considering the weather. Breadmaker will go on and I'm making some Twinks as I have had a request from eldest DS!
Nothing else planned so hope you all have a good day all x

Morning - and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. What a worry for you @dp1, I hope that your mum is feeling better now, it's scary for everyone. Hugs for your DD @TravellingAbuela, it's a rough time for her and your worry levels are high enough already. What a pain for you @camelot1001, my fingers are crossed that the mess can be sorted soon.
The wind and rain have been raging all night, it's an early start to storm season and doesn't bode well for the coming months. Yesterday was a day of showers and sunshine until teatime when an almighty bout of heavy rain arrived, it even affected my Freesat dish signal for about 20 minutes, When I went out yesterday morning petrol was £164.99 and later, when I had to out again, it had risen to £174.99. If I had known of the rise I would have filled up, damn it!
This morning I have to go out for three tasks so hope that the rain stops. Lunch will be garlic chicken with the remnants of salad stuff.
Take care all, hugs to the poorlies and sad. xx

Morning everyone,
I thought I posted yesterday but got sidetracked by hubby needing help. Thinking of all of you with cares and worries. DP1, glad your mum was able to stay in her care home and not go to hospital.
Yesterday, was one of those days. Our car is currently in the garage and it is going to cost a few hundred pounds with no guarantee it will work, and this was the cheaper option. So, belt tightening will need to be increased to cover the eventuality of having to purchase another car, hopefully, we will get a few more months out of our current car.
Today will be a staying indoors day as it is heavy rain, very nice to listen to. I will continue with the crochet blanket and work on a 20 meal rotation plan for autumn/winter.
Take care all.10 -
Morning everyone
Thanks for the good wishes for my mam and also for little one, yes she has the casts put on her legs today, they have just left. I have little lad just for a couple of hours then Dds friend/fellow foster carer is picking him up when I need to go to work and will keep him until they get home. Hes upstairs having a nap before he goes.
I spoke to little one last night and felt so sorry for her, she's really enjoying her new class - she could have done without this disrupting things, although of course at the end of it she should be able to walk more comfortably. They'd told DD to expect her to be in a lot of pain the first few days.
TA you have a lot to worry about, I hope your DD can enjoy her couple of days away.
Hope you get your working hours sorted soon Camelot.
Best get on, hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for the (very early) start @ScarletRibbons!
@camelot1001 - Sorry to hear your work situation is still hitting a sticking point; how disappointing (and frustrating) to not get the letter you were expecting.
@TravellingAbuela - Hugs to you and your DD, such a worrying time for you both. I hope she and DGD enjoy Bon Jovi.
@Chrisca50 - Glad to hear the dentist visit wasn't as bad as feared. Yes, it's coming round to flu jab time again so I'm expecting an invitation any day now.
@dp1 - I do hope the casts will help LO; such a shame it's come just as she's happily settling back into school.
The rain did manage to hold off yesterday until around 10 pm then it came down with a vengeance, for how long I don't know but it was still pouring when I went to bed. This morning is dry with watery sunshine and a light breeze but the likelihood of more rain at any time is on the cards. Highest 'feels like' temperatures around 13 or 14 deg.
Yesterday the plumber came and did what he needed to do, DS made a blood test appointment for Friday (with instructions to keep taking the tablets for now) and I washed a load of towels, partly dried in the TD and now finishing off on the airer. For dinner I'm making a meat pie using the leftover beef casserole as a filling and I'll use any pastry bits up for jam and lemon curd tarts. Nothing else of note happening today, same old/same old.
Waves to our MIA and thoughts with the sleepless, poorly or just plain fed up. Take care all. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
afternoon from sunny Leeds
Last night was “different “ with the fire alarms going off at 1.45 am ! All standing outside ,at least I’m only on the first floor some are on the 10 th and when the alarms go off the lifts stop too
Apparently a guest tried to disassemble the smoke alarm so they could smoke in their room which automatically triggered it a total of 3 times until the engineers could sort it out!
I guess you just can’t fix stupid !,
Been to the Royal Armouries absolutely fascinating then went walking a nd water taxi to see the Arcades etc ,now resting befydinner my back /hip does not appreciate all the walking but my mind does .
Stay safe all
