Can't get share code for DBS check

Hi,

I had a DBS check done in July 2026. I am trying to get a share code for it so that someone else (a prospective employer) can view it (they do not have a DBS online account).

I have done this before (got a share code) , but for some reason, today, in my DBS online account, this doesnt seem possible. When i click "manage consent", it takes me to some option boxes which are always just blank and dont allow me to select anything. I've read through the guide on how to get a share code, and i have followed those steps, but i cant get the share code.

The share code is needed so that i can give it to the prospective employer so that they can view my DBS certificate.

Please advise on how to get the share code?

_____ ___ __

I am wondering if its because mine is a "basic certificate" and maybe you only get one view allowed for these?

Does this mean i need to pay another £20 for another DBS check certificate? I sent the employer a photo of my DBS certificate so hopefully they will accept that?

____ —- ____

Ive payed for two DBS certificates in the last 18 months , and had two other DBS certs done by different employers, for which they payed.

So i have had four DBS checks done in the last 18 months.

I believe there are 2 issues at work here.

    1. You have to sign up for the portable option when you apply. If you didn't do this, there's only a limited window in which to change this.
    2. If an employer is entitled to see a DBS check, they should make arrangements to do so through an umbrella body. If they're not entitled they shouldn't ask you to get one.

Alternatively, have you tried using a different internet browser?
