I actually had two jobs this gone tax year where i have not yet completed the tax return…..this appears to be causing the SC and BPSS checks multiple problems as they dont know where i was for the duration of those positions.

Get on and complete it. What's stopping you - you've had nearly 5 months in which to do so.

Exactly.
As I have said in various similar threads over the years, a prospective employer is completely free to set more exacting standards than the minimum required by law providing they do not discriminate on the handful of legally protected grounds (e.g. race, gender etc).
