I recently checked my credit card account and found that we had unbeknown to us, we had been paying a subscription to FAQ-Flash.Discount of £8.99 since 2024. I have subsequently contacted this company to retrieve the money but they have only returned payments for the last 3 months. The only way to contact them is by email to which they are no longer responding. I don’t what what to do next to ensure that we get a full refund.

They are based in the UAE, so your options are limited. Have you checked back around the time the subscription started to see if you bought anything from them and signed up unintentionally? You could try a Subject Access Request to get copies of all the data they hold on you which should include the details of when and how you signed up to this - they 'should' have to comply with that, but it may be difficult to force them.

You probably clicked a link and missed the fact that you were actually subscribing to a continuous payment after a trial ended or you ordered from them.

It happens all the time.

Once again, as per many topics that have appeared on the forum, there is no "unbeknown to us", the charge must have been on your statements for the last two years and you have failed to check those statements carefully enough.

I doubt very much you are entitled to a full refund, proving they acted as per the Ts and Cs which you agreed to.

Getting anything more back is unlikely.

No right to claim more back via payment method.
