Morning again - 1st September - how quickly the year is slipping away.
It's just about full daylight here and a fine morning.
There's not much happening today except a bit of housework, there's always housework.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It promises to be a lovely day and that pesky wind of yesterday looks to have moved on.
DD has her appointment at the local hospital this morning, mainly to discuss the next step re her BC.. I am feeling all churned up. I offered to go with her but she said she was fine on her own as she doesn't expect there will be much to report other than what's happening next and probably a date. She is going to update me when she comes out and then she is straight off to work. There's always something to worry about..
All being well I am meeting DF for lunch so it will be good to to have someone to mull things over with. Bus Buddy also has her appointment in Leeds today to discuss the outcome of her op and what is happening next. So I am worrying for her too.
Have a good day folks if you can and take care all x

Morning all,
TA, thinking of you and your DD.SR, my day will be like yours, quiet with housework.
It is going to be an unexciting day here, I am unwell so I will try and muster up energy to at least do a general tidy up of the sitting room and put some washing on. I was unable to visit mum, so will try and get a message through to her at her nursing home. She is very hard of hearing so trying to phone her is getting difficult, plus she sometimes gets confused with how to operate the phone.
If I have the energy I will try and look at my wool and start a crochet blanket for this winter.
Take care all.9 -
Good morning
Bright and sunny, yesterday brought unexpected showers, today is forecast to be dry, but wait and see.
Only the usual chores to do, I'm going to make a steak and kidney pie for DH with some filling made last week. Chilli for me with a small amount of mince from the freezer. Trying to use up stores ready for any bargains hopefully coming up.
TA, hope all goes well for your DD, and the news for your bus buddy is hopeful.
Peony, hope you feel better and get to talk to mum.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all
TA Hope you can enjoy your lunch and chat with your friend.
Don’t feel like I’ve got done anything I wanted to for days now - just the reality of the situation and I’m not adjusting to it very well. Managed to snatch half an hour in the garden in between showers and other things - I can confirm the weeds are a-plenty but they’re also much easier to get out after the rain.
Today should bring the window cleaners (who need to be ‘spoken to’ as last time they were rubbish), District nurse and a bath lift delivery.
Have a good day allAA

Morning all - thanks @ScarletRibbons for the start. No fine weather here, it's atrocious again. Heavy rain battering at the window early on, the sky is grey and the outlook gloomy for the rest of the day. Sunday was lovely, dry with high winds.
I finished off the tax information and got it sent off to the accountant. All the necessary stuff was on my spreadsheet in alphabetical order, his form was in Word and muddled up so it took a bit more effort. I'll amend his form for next year! Then I forgot to send through the P60s until late in the evening so did it there and then. Done!
Today I'm off up to the big town as I need cash, shopping and Euros. My oldest GNephew turns 18 later in the week. Then I've the monthly banking to do, I'm almost sick of spreadsheets. 😀
I hope that all have a good day, take care, hugs to the poorlies and those having a tough time. xx

Morning all. It's a bright sunny day here so I've checked the weather forecast - no rain - and have put the white washing on. DH will probably grumble because it's only a small load but I'd rather get it done and out of the way.
Yesterday I made 6 batches of plum crumble, 3 of which went to DD, one we ate last night with custard, and the remaining two are sitting in the freezer. I still have some crumble mix left but that freezes easily for another time. Today I might make half a batch of cheesy biscuits to use up a pack of parmesan. We're having sausages, mash and onion gravy tonight as I'm still being careful of my tooth.
I sorted out a few dates with DD yesterday and we've now booked pumpkin picking for half term and a couple of DGS birthday things. I've just had a dance booking cancelled this morning as well, so that will free up a Sunday later in the month.
I've a phone call to make regarding an instrument repair. Once I've done that then I can plan my week, as I think I'll need to take it by car and, hopefully, wait while it's fixed.
Thoughts are with you TA, regarding your daughter and your friend; very worrying for you all.
Good wishes to all and hope your day goes well.

Morning all, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons.
Today we can expect a dry and calm day of sunny intervals with temperatures sitting around 18 or 19 deg. The grass is looking a lot greener now that we've had rain and some of the trees are starting to show their autumn colours, to be expected now it's meteorological autumn. Only one of our local schools has re-opened today, I expect the others will be following suit tomorrow or Thursday.
Although I don't have anything in particular planned for the day, I shall definitely be finding 'something' to do because, after two days of complete idleness, I'm feeling very lethargic. I'm not good at sitting doing nothing! 😁 I've pulled a tub of chilli from the freezer for tonight's dinner and have already filled the space with half a pack sausages but must make some inroads ready for winter soup making. For afters I'll give the last of the date tea loaf a quick ping in the MW and serve it with custard.
@Gers - Sadly yes, it is that version of The Rainmaker. ☹️ Apparently John Grisham had a hand in its production which surprised me, given the way it's (so far) being re-hashed. Somehow, film/TV versions of books nearly always disappoint.
@TA - Fingers crossed you have more positive news today from DD, DF and Bus Buddy.
@peony40 - Hope you feel better soon.
WM has finished so I'll get that lot hung up and then decide what to do. Have a good day all, I hope you're not feeling as confused as I am as to what day it is - Bank Holidays always do that to me. Take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7
