Morning all. Guess I'm first up today!
Spitting with rain here atm and we're off to a friend's party after lunch so hope it clears up for that.
In the meantime I've picked and frozen masses of plums from the garden, given lots away to friends, and have a few on poaching for later. Need to buy a few more freezer boxes now.
Hope everyone is keeping well and just having a lie in!

Morning @WickedLady4 thanks for starting us off
Everyone still in bed then?
Awake early as usual so have slobbered for a while and now chocolate sponge is cooling ready for filling. Bed stripped so will make that up after a leisurely coffee.
Have a good day all xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start WL, I'm envious of your plums - I had 6 on my tree!
Bed stripped earlier and re-made and I've been for a swim. There's another load in the WM that I'll put out before I go to the allotment.
Nothing much planned but there's plenty to keep me out of trouble, I had a much better night's sleep so am feeling full of energy this morning.
Hope everyone is ok and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning @WickedLady4 and all to follow. I think everyone must be busy, on holiday breaks or having a lazy start to the day!
Dry here at the moment but steady rainfall is promised from about 11 am onwards and set to last all day. The Reading & Leeds festival started here on Thursday until tomorrow and the Leeds West Indian carnival takes place on Monday so I'm not surprised it's a wet Bank Holiday but I hope it doesn't spoil anyone's plans.
Today's highlight is a grocery delivery, two (acceptable) subs, and I've given the fridge/freezer a clean and tidy up ready for when it arrives. When that's been put away I have the knitted cardigan to finish off - just need to sew on the buttons that I found in my button tin. Tea tonight is a corned beef hash with dumplings, ideal for a dreary weather day.
Nothing else happening so I'll wish everyone a good Bank Holiday. Take care all, thinking of all those struggling at the moment. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @Wicked_Lady.
I was up and out well before 8.30a.m., back now and with coffee. The sun may shine again.
Yesterday the gardener removed four big green bags full of weeds, she enjoys clearing out all the dead stuff too. I had defrosted a pack of Dexter beef mince, cooked it up into a mash up of bolognaise sauce and chilli sauce. Once cool I portioned it up into bags, flattened them and stuck back in the freezer. On Monday I have a delivery of Indian meals from Aktar at Home so need the space.
I had an appointment with the pharmacy and then went to the next village for a freshly made buttery and cake. On the way back I delivered the cake to the pharmacist who is extremely lovely and extremely stressed. Two staff are off so she's covering for them.
Not sure what else is happening today. I think the swallows are getting ready to leave, that'll be sad to see. Lunch is prepped already.
Take care all - enjoy whatever the day brings you. Hugs. xx

morning everyone thanks for the start wicked lady ive done a pile of ironing my most hated job and my friend has been to pick her little dog up still got one until Monday but we have had the other one for over 3 weeks he was pleased to see her but he’s been as good as gold Ive been to Lidl and swapped my books at the library I’m going to have a cuppa then I will wash the kitchen floor. A lady I clean for is 90 next week she certainly doesn’t need anything and she’s a fussy lady who doesn’t like a lot of things but she’s likes chocolate so I have got her a box of chocolates and a houseplant she doesn’t like flowers says they are a waste of money. I have taken chops out for tonight I will think of something to go with them . It’s lovely and warm here and bright but heavy rain and thunderstorms are forcast for later they have been all week but up to now we had a small shower yesterday they can keep getting wrong for me I’m enjoying these milder days . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Afternoon all
It's tipping down here, and set to last all day, typical Bank Holiday weather. Not that it matters to us, but a shame for those working who look forward to it, and any events being held.
I think DH will be watching football and rugby, there's not much he can do outside. I'll probably start one of the books I got from the cs shop last week. I'm making pulled pork with some shoulder steaks that were reduced, hopefully enough to have in rolls tonight, and with jacket potatoes tomorrow.
Enjoy the rest of the day, take care.

Good afternoon, it's not often I say that.
I was up early but went straight out with the dog, and in the flurry of feeding him when we got back, I managed to make myself a coffee, and realised my device had no charge, I'd forgotten to charge it last night.
I don't like posting on my phone, so have waited until now. The dog is going home this afternoon, so life will be quieter. I can't move without him following me, he's the same with DD. He's a nice little dog though.
Hope you're ok Sue.
It's fine and warm here but going to rain later apparently.I
Hope everyone is ok and has good days, take care folks.

Afternoon folks. I'm a latecomer today, I was like GERS, up and out of the door early to catch our first little bus into town and then an onward bus to Ilkley.. I took it into my head that I fancied a trip there, specifically for their M & S Food which is handy for the bus back again.(We lost our M & S quite some years ago now and I have never forgiven them!)
I just fancied a browse for something a bit different after living off mostly salads and picking bits throughout the summer. I shall still be going to Sainsbobs tomorrow with DS but, as I have said before, that's like doing the Supermarket Sweep with no time for just looking and lingering! I pondered on taking Dolly Trolley with me but instead settled on a large shopping bag and then I couldn't get carried away.
YL middle DGD is camping at Leeds Festival. She went Thursday setting up their tent in torrential rain and almost wishing she hadn't gone! But yesterday was a lovely day and she was loving it, living her best life at her first music festival! I keep getting updates from DD. Although I think we will both be glad when she is safely home again!
Now I think it will be a lazy afternoon and an equally lazy tea as I have earmarked the Spanish Ham & Cheese Pan de Cristal I got yellow stickered. The other things I got are now in the freezer and the sauces in the store cupboard.
Have a good rest of the day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for anyone in need. Take care all, be safe xx
