which is more reliable?
Statement
Date = 16 Dec 2007
Balance = 2326.12
Available credit = 273.88
Credit Report (Equifax)
Last update = 15 Nov 2007
Current = Account closed on 29/04/2006 with outstanding balance of 2316
Payment history = April 2006 account in default
I would think this is the same account as it has the same credit limit, equifax don't name the accounts & callcredit don't have the account. Will check creditexpert tomorrow as login info is on works email.

Your statement should be the most accurate as your credit file can be a couple of months out of date. Not sure why it would show the account as being closed though - you haven't had a card lost or stolen have you? Because sometimes when that happens, they close one account down and open another. Although after this length of time, the new account would most likely be showing on there.
If you need to know for certain though, just give the lender a ring and they will be able to confirm the account is still open, and tell you the balance/available credit."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hey Debrag,
Its only a ten pound difference so im assuming thats maybe interest (I think the credit ref agency dont update till later in the month)
Id call them (provided it isnt a dca) and if you do have available credit or have not defaulted then ask them to remove the default from your credit file.
I have an account with Next and my statement with them says I have available credit and yet they wont let me order anything....go figure :rolleyes:
I hope you get it sorted
Take care

my interest each month is more than I am paying via payplan.
With creditexpert it is £2321 last updated 09/12/2007 & status as [8] - 'The account is defaulted. You have failed to keep to your credit agreement and have not responded satisfactorily to requests to put your account in order. As a result the credit agreement has ended' - surely that isn't the case as I am on a DMP and have been since March 2006. So I haven't kept up with the credit agreement with min payments etc but they have accepted my payments for the last 20 months, isn't that trying to put my account is order?0 -
Hey Debrag,
Im no expert but I have a fair few defaults on my account and am now trying to pay it off (although not on a DMP)
Even when I do pay it I *think* the default stays on the file although im not sure.
If you went to (8) status on the credit reports records was it not sent to a DCA? Thats usually the next move? Could it be the DCA that has marked your credit file?
Sorry im not much help am I?
At least youll get a bump and hopefully one of the experts will reply.:o03/12/2010 [STRIKE]£9,736.56[/STRIKE]

I haven't been told it's gone to a DCA the last letter (Dec 07) was telling me Marbles has been bought by someone but is still Marbles.
I'm just confussed why my statements says one think & my reports say another.
I have defaults on 2 other accounts I think0
