Updating personal details on the government gateway.

Is there a way to update personal details on the HMRC website?

I have looked everywhere but there does not seem to be a way to do it.

I use the government gateway and as I no longer have a landline I want to delete that telephone number.

I'd quite like to remove the details of the accountant who last did my self-assessment 20 years ago and who is still copied in on my PAYE notices.

Poor guy's been dead for ten years.

Never found a way to do it.

@flaneurs_lobster This process worked for me, although I did also have to write them a letter asking them to completely remove his details from my account.

Good grief, not exactly "tick this box to remove your agent" is it. When I have a spare couple of days I'll work through those instructions.

As far as I can remember it has never been used by HMRC for anything. My Mobile is the primary number that I receive texts on.

Its weird, the only place I can see a phone number on my account is for the 2FA. No sign of anywhere to add or change a land line number.

The old self assessment authority doesn't stretch to PAYE any more, they sit as separate permissions now. That's why he's still turning up on coding notices twenty years on. Take him off the return side and he can still be sat on the PAYE record, so it needs doing twice.
