Your account was legally assigned to this group of companies some time ago and since the date of that assignment, we have been endeavouring to contact you.
By processing you account throught public database it has been confirmed that miss xxx xxxx is living at the address shown on this letter.
it is therefore impertive that you contact us immediately to discuss you account. Our telephone number is clearly shown at the top of this letter, as are our working hours. Please ask to speak to our negotiators, quoting your refence number.
if you believe that you are not our customer, and have no connection with the above referenced account, please contact us as possible, so we amend our records
yours faithfully
thames credit limited

Let me guess.......Thames Credit
If so send your statute barred letter again, recorded delivery, if you previously sent it recorded delivery then I would be inclined to write enclosing a copy of your previous letter, and state they they are acting unlawfully by not responding to your request, demand that they remove all data relating to you from their records, and that you are reporting them to the OFT and Bromley Trading Standards[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j

Keep copies of anything you send them. You do not need to speak to them on the phone. Start a file and put your letters from you and them in it. Staple any receipts of posting in it. Then you have your paper trail. Good luck. It may well be worth requesting a copy of the consumer credit agreement from them at the same time. Always put on the top of your letters i do not acknowledge this debt.Night Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

I do not acknowledge any debt to you or any company you may be working for.
Dear Sirs
Thank you for your letter dated 28/12/07 the contents of which are noted
I refer you to my letter sent to your office on the 21/12/2007
Until such time as I receive a written reply to that correspondence I will not be in a position to discuss this any further as I am unaware that I am indebted to your company at all and therefore do not acknowledge any debt to your company or any company that you represent
Please note that I will only discuss these matters in writing and will not be calling your company nor am I required to do so, as per the OFT guidelines on debt collection
I await your reply
Regards
should i just send as it is or do i need add anything else?
??
also is there a time scale for them to send info??
any help i be happy with lol0 -
Hi Chickster
I assume this is a continuation of this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=639575&highlight=Thames+Credit in which case you just need to wait until the 12+2 (working) days have expired which will be 21st January, I know that is a calendar month but due to xmas and new year that is only 14 days[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j

Re reading your post, it looks like you sent the letter on the 21st so Thames would not have received it until after xmas, and thus their letter has crossed yours in the post. Hopefully the next letter you receive from them should respond to yours of 21st[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j

yes that me sorry to go

anyway do i send them that letter with stat barr in just incase or wait till i get a reply??0 -
Sit tight until the 22nd, I am sure they will respond with some mushroom compost story about your moral obligation to pay, followed by a 'January sale' once in a lifetime offer of a 50% discount if you pay up immediately[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j
