Morning All and thanks for the start Scarlet.
Hospital appt was fine yesterday, just a routine 6 monthy check up, I was in work for 10.30 so not too bad.
It's been very wet here, stair rod rain yesterday but it's dry for now.
Hope your DM got on ok yesterday Ruby.
Good service from the council YL.
The days seem to be going really quickly at work as we're so busy, don't know how they think we can manage with us doing less hours but they know best! There's another meeting next week, perhaps we'll be told then what happens. I put in for flexible retirement the other day to reduce hours, will now have another long wait to hear about that.
Hope everyone is well and you have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It looks a bit damp out there but we managed to avoid the thunderstorms forecast for the North. I know because I was awake most of the night worrying about things I can do nothing about. Plus not helped by the constant pinging on my phone of messages to and from the WhatsApp group for my DF in Oz. It's her 80th birthday today and was her DH's yesterday so double the messages!
The highlight of the day is the plumber coming late morning to do the annual boiler service. He's a lovely chap that I have used for quite some years. Sadly he says this will be his last year as he has had more worrying health news on top of that given to him last year. He says he will explain more when he comes. I just seem surrounded by bad news these days.
Other than that nothing else is planned. The usual Thursday jobs will be on hold until tomorrow as I feel a nan nap will be needed this afternoon after my sleepless night.
Have a nice day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
Some rain it appears, but not as much as expected so far. Yesterday we had a 10 minute downpour ans then it was warm again.
Windows finished yesterday, well almost……I haven’t done the conservatory but I’m too achey. Didn’t get out with DM for various reasons, I need to learn to go with the flow!
Today I might try to do some craft stuff after I’ve done shopping and maybe popped into an elderly friend who needs some curtains taking down.
have a good day allAA

Up and at 'em early today, well what I really mean is I've just set the breadmaker up for a fruit loaf and now I'm back in bed with my laptop!
Thanks for your thoughts re doc's appt. Spoke to her yesterday and have an appointment at the surgery on Monday. Will see what she has to say then.
Not much planned today except a bit if tidying up in the garden this morning as according to weather forecast we should get a bit of rain around lunchtime. An afternoon with my book as it's near the end and I need to know whodunit!
Have a good day all x

It's raining here, and quite cool. The grass on the park opposite is slowly turning green again, from the dry brown it has been for weeks.
Glad your hospital appt went well Camelot, that's over with for a few months. I tend to think that on leaving the dentist's after a routine check up but before I know it the 6 months has gone! Hoping you get the flexible retirement, it's nice to have more leisure time.
Yesterday was an ok day, just the usual stuff, I expect today will be the same. Dd will be bringing their dog up, he's staying for a week, they're going on holiday. He's a nice little dog, but prefers women to men, so he'll be my shadow while he's here, and up on my lap when I sit down.
Hope your Ds is doing all right RosyRed, also thoughts to your Mum Ruby.
Have good days all, if you can, take care.

Morning all
We had rain off and on all day yesterday and some showers due today, the green areas desperately need it as does the village pond which has been dredged and waiting for rain to refill it.
The meeting with the care home went well yesterday we are taking mum at 2.30 Friday afternoon, she has a ground floor room with en suite so should be comfortable 🤞🏻 she is anxious about it but I keep saying it’s only for two weeks and then you will be home.
I’m going to get my pedicure done this morning and then on to get my waxing done and I need to collect our currency on the way home, manicure tomorrow as it’s a different lady, my nail lady doesn’t do feet.
Dinner tonight will be a bit of a mix up there are two portions of lasagne in the freezer and one slice of quiche so I will get them out and do some salad and we can pick and choose.
Dogs to be walked this morning and if I get time I want to clean the fridge out.
Camelot I was going to ask what was happening with your job, I hope all goes well xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all - thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons.
My trip up north was fine yesterday, scanned the two return parcels (linen trousers in different sizes) and only bought fruit. I'll be sad when the soft fruit season is over. Cleaner had been so the place was less dusty. He's not brilliant but does the essentials, I'm thinking of having a one off deep clean done by a different company once the living room has been painted. The plaster is dry and unsightly!
Bad news is so awful to sleep patterns @TravellingAbuela - what works for me is to have the radio or podcast running which seems to divert my mind from the rubbish and into sleep.
Lunch today is the remaining sausages with veg and mash. Nothing much planned but I will go out if the rain holds off. Hugs to all with worries, pains and sadness. xx

Good morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet.
Yesterday we had a heavy downpour with thunder and a couple of flashes of lightning, followed by sunny spells. It rained again overnight, only lightly I think, but the weatherman is promising more heavy rain today and the yellow weather warning stills stands until mid-afternoon. The high heat has disappeared and the thermometer might reach a high of 15 deg, if we're lucky.
Operation tile cleaning is almost done, just a small section behind the cooker to do today, and I'd like to fit in a small top-up shop but that can wait until tomorrow if need be. Yesterday I packed away the fan I've been using to keep cool in the living room, I doubt it will be needed again for a good while. The plan is for a Chinese style prawn curry with rice for tonight's meal, after that I'll settle down to watch the last episode of A House In Time and finish the last two chapters of the latest book I'm reading.
@camelot - I remember the phrase 'work smarter, not harder' being bandied about in my working days. I always got the feeling it was a euphemism designed to make us feel better about doing more work with less staff and less hours. 🤔 Fingers crossed your request for flexible retirement doesn't take too long.
As always, thoughts with the poorly and tired and waves to our MIA. Take care all. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10
