yet another Intrum case
I am yet another who has been affected by Intrum chasing debts they are not allowed to enforce.
I had a number of debts that became statute barred many many years ago and Intrum seems to have purchased them all over a period of time.
It is the same cycle that I have seen others post on this forum after considerable research, it goes like this.
Instrum appoint Capquest who send a letter saying they are managing the debt
Capquest appoint DebtCollector1 to collect the debt despite knowing it is statute barred.
I tell DebtCollector1 and they say they will tell Capquest and I hear no more from DebtCollector1
Capquest appoint DebtCollector2 to collect the debt despite knowing it is statute barred.
I tell DebtCollector2 and they say they will tell Capquest and I hear no more from DebtCollector2
This same cycle goes on and on until all goes quiet for six months and I think they have got the message
Then I get the same letter from DebtCollector1 for the same debt but with a new DebtCollector1 reference number, the details of the debt remain the same.
I have copies of all the paperwork for all of the debts, when I sent the letter saying I would no longer be servicing the original debt and all the letters from all of the companies who legitimately chased the debt when it was within the 6 years.
I also have all the letters from the debt collectors Intrum has had send me letters.
I have researched Intrum and it seems that they are already in some sort of administration anything I can do to push them over the edge would be appreciated.
I want to put an end to this once and for all, I want to serve Intrum with something because they all blame each other.
The debts have never been acknowledged since I stopped paying them and I have never made any payments to any of them.
My question is which letter to start with?
I have already tried informing the debt collectors and Capquest, so I want to do something to Intrum that will allow me to make an ombudsman complaint if they do not stop.
My thinking is that if I got a copy of my credit file it would show zero debts and thus any debt they will to allege would be statute barred, otherwise it would appear on the credit report.
I also got a letter from Registry Trust Ltd that I had no CCJ's.
Is this a good approach as it would show that I have no debt or CCJ's so any debts they allege are owing are dead forever.
I would also appreciate some wording to warn them to cease & desist once and for all or face some sort of action, I have seen posts about harassment and so wording for a warning about that would be good.
I know that Capquest is owned by Intrum but I think it is best that I deal with intrum directly so I can help others in this position. Posts from others here show that Capquest simply deny knowing anything and clearly the debt collectors themselves keep going on and on.

Well if you want to annoy them, just start a complaint, and see how you get on, its the only sure way to stop them.
Sending "cease and desist" letters is a waste of time, they have seen them all before, and are not fazed one bit, they are a massive debt purchasing conglomerate, they know how far they can push the boundaries here.
Follow the complaints process, and you can take the matter to the FOS if, after you receive their final response, you still remain unhappy.

And mither your local MP. Ask for appointment and take a copy of your evidence. Suggest that they'll have a lot of other constituents in the same situation. Some of whom are bereaved and have these creditors crawling out of the woodwork to claim the debt from their estates.
And remind them that in Scotland statute barred debt is extinguished unlike England where it still exists but can't be enforced.
And the bottom feeders bought the debt at 5p in the £1 then try and claim £1.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing2 -
Do you suggest I make the complaint against Intrum rather than Capquest or the debt collectors they are sending over and over AGAIN?

yes complaint to Intrum. And send the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman if it is not resolved

Agreed, complain to the organ grinder, not the monkey.
