Hello,
I have about five years of NI contributions that I have made over the years.
I m still in my late twenties.
I am thinking of moving abroad to US to work and might stay there forever
How do i safeguard my pension so when I retire I have a UK pension? I understand that I can make NI contributions - Does anyone how much these are?
Thanks

You can make Voluntary Contributions which are about £7.50 a week.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Any ideas much appreciated.

If you are working overseas you can pay class 2 contributions, which are much cheaper - more like 2 pounds a week. BargainTrying to keep it simple...0

If you working/living in the US the totalisation agreement between the 2 countries gives you partial benefits even if you do not qualify under UK domestic rules. I would suggest reading up further on the totalisation agreement as it can become quite complex.0
