Morning folks and thanks GERS. The heat is already building here before it peaks on Thursday. I like warm sunny weather but not heatwave stuff. I don't cope with the heat like I once did.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts yesterday, much appreciated. All being well I am meeting DF for lunch so we will each offload our worries I'm sure.
I looked at the back garden in despair yesterday, it's been sadly neglected this year. I had a clematis in a pot, climbing up a trellis and then something decided to seed in the pot with it. It grew enormous almost overnight and then it blew over in one of the pesky winds, dragging the clematis and trellis with it. I tried to put it all upright but I found the thick roots had escaped through the drainage holes in the pot and so I was flogging a dead horse! Long story short it is now all in the green recycling bin. The trellis is laid in the garden and the poor clematis is no more.
Have a good day if you can and big ((HUGS)) for anyone else in need. Take care all, be safe in the heat x

morning everyone thanks for the start Gers. TA I’m pleased you are feeling a bit better I had a rotten weekend I was all set to go for a long walk with my son and DIL housework done dinner prepped and they forgot all about me I got myself so upset I ended up going on a long walk by myself it was far to hot and I was purple by the time I finished if anyone had spoke to me I would have burst in to tears I seam to always be here to run around after everyone and nobody thinks about me so time for a change I think I’ve got a bus pass I’ve never used it will be used this weekend as I’m going off out I’m not a shopper but I’m about sick to death of been stuck in all weekend don’t mention my selfish hubby so when I met my friend yesterday she got all this so she’s probably as fed up as you all are but it’s good to talk and I’ve made some decisions to keep myself busy . Off out to do a cleaning job now I need to call for some fruit on the way back but otherwise not a lot happening apart from some housework. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's bright this morning but not sunny yet. All the washing was dry when I got home (later than anticipated) and is all put away. I cut the grass and tidied the garden yesterday evening, it was still warm and sunny about 7.30.
So sorry to hear all your bad news TA, big hugs to you.
Aw Izzy, that's rotten but well done for going for a walk and getting your anger out. Some 'you time' is needed I think.
Lovely trip to Glasgow yesterday to meet with ex colleague who is looking great after a rotten break up with her partner. The food (tapas) was excellent and the trains mostly on time. I'm going to meet another friend today for lunch, I've never eaten out so much!
Take care everyone. XX

Oh dear @IzzyBee - that's so rubbish! I hope that they both felt awful. Imagine if you forgot to cook dinner, do the washing and ironing - I remember that a member here, think it was Tru, many years ago decided to go on domestic strike as her family consistently ignored the washing up. She had her own set, only used it and only washed it. I can't remember how it turned out. Give it a try. And do go off on your own. Have bus pass will travel, no need to shop apart from a yummy wee cake.
@TravellingAbuela - I really hope that meeting up can help you both. The burdens of others are sometimes worse than your own.
My day yesterday was pretty good. The early morning news from Australia had my mind dancing, even now. It's certainly the happiest I've been since my DM died as this will put an end to a hanging thread. Then I decided that I needed to walk more. As the exercises are beginning to help I realised that my level of fitness is woeful. The blooming watch is like a head teacher hovering over my shoulder telling me to do more, try harder! So I did, and survived. There's a long way to go but I've made the baby steps.
My tentative plans are to drive about an hour to a scone honesty box. There's so many honesty boxes around here, ranging from potatoes to jam to eggs to honey and bread / cakes, there's even a venison one. I like to support these local producers when I can.
If the weather gets too hot then please take care. Whilst yesterday was a lovely day, and the rest of the week looks to be good too, we've not had the extreme heat experienced down south. Hugs to our poorlies and those recovering from ops.

Good morning
Cloudy here but sunshine due later, temperatures rising to 29degs.
I went shopping yesterday, first to Lids then called into Asd* on the way back for petrol. I put £40 in which usually fills my car up, but because of price rises it only got to 3/4. Anyway, I popped in store for a mooch and found a pair of jeans in my size reduced to £5, so that cheered me up.
Today is tidying up the kitchen cupboards. Why is it that men are unable to put things back where they found them? Chicken for tea tonight, probably with salad.
@TravellingAbuela so sorry to hear of your family and friends problems. We are here to listen, offload when you need to.
Have a good day all, take care.

Another beautiful day I have two people coming today and they have asked for a lesson in making lasagne! So we will go to the shop first to get the bits they need and then come home and make it, I have the ingredients here to make us one so will do that at the same time and that will do us a dinner for maybe tonight.
Washing is on the go so I will hang that out once it’s done and I will have a hoover through this morning.
TA I’m sorry to hear of your worries you are a good friend, and I hope they have caught your dd early enough for a simple lumpectomy - sending love xx
Izzy bless you that’s rotten of them xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all. Bright and sunny here again so more washing out on the line. That should be the last of the holiday laundry.
Went to Lidl yesterday and used my Lidl app for the first time. Didn't realise that the free fruit item would be taken as an avocado and not the flat peaches! Luckily I can have the avocado for lunch today, along with some salad. Next time I think I get a free bakery item but will check the details carefully.
Izzy; that's rather thoughtless of them. Make sure you use your bus pass. You can go to so many places for free and spend as little or as long as you like there. I can get to either Oxford or Cambridge on mine, although it's 2 hours each way to either city. We often use them when away or on park and ride buses sometimes.
Off to tackle some housework now.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Kitchen and dining room floor down now and it looks lovely. They should finish the lounge today and then it's just the skirting boards to put back etc. Can't wait to get everything back to normal now and get rid of the dust!
Sorry to hear that @IzzyBee I hope they've apologised. You definitely need to be more selfish with your time and do what you want to do more often x
As I'm still stuck upstairs I just looked for something that was on TV and ended up watching The Lion King and got all soppy!
Going to go on my exercise bike now to get out of sloth mode for a while at least
Have a good day all x

Morning all, thanks @Gers.
@IzzyBee - I hope you're feeling a bit less down today and that your son and DiL have apologised. Yes, use your bus pass, get out more and do things just for you instead of running around after other people. I rather like the idea of going on a domestic strike!
Another dry and sunny day here, the beginning of another mini heatwave over the next three days. Yesterday afternoon I did go out for a short walk (well, more of a gentle stroll) and noticed the hawthorn berries have already formed and are turning red - it seems so odd, given the current weather. Meanwhile, everything else is brown and crispy but of course the weeds are still flourishing. 🙄 My hanging baskets have just about finished now and what was a lovely hydrangea bush is looking very sorry for itself, no doubt it will bounce back. Normally the flowers are a deep pink/purple colour but there have been a few blue ones too this year - all now bleached because of the hot sun and lack of rain.
Before it gets too hot I've ironed the pieces of fabric that I washed yesterday and have written out a (long) list of crafting projects, new ones to start and WIPs that need finishing. I definitely won't be short of things to do this winter! 😁 While out on my stroll I popped into the Co-op for some washing up liquid; they'd just done their reductions so for pennies I also bought 1L of fresh orange juice, a punnet of strawberries, a thick sliced loaf and two bananas. These last two will become the obligatory banana loaf, the loaf is in the freezer and the OJ and strawberries won't hang around for long. Tea last night was h/m mac'n cheese from the freezer and tonight it's a salad.
@remmie - I don't think men's brains work the same way as women's. Or is it that we make a rod for our own backs by doing all the tidying, organising etc? 🤔
@Suffolksue - Pleased to hear your recovery is making good progress.
@Chrisca - Hooray, the finishing line is in sight!
Remember to cover up in this heat and drink lots of water. Take care all, have a good day. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7
