    Hello Beanielou, I remember you!

Long overdue an update on this thread. I had my big pay day last week which included my overtime and back pay so I have been able to pay £520 off my Barclaycard, leaving £450 left. I also managed to finish last month £250 over drawn, so my outstanding debt is down to £700 which is good progress.

All was going extremely swimmingly, however one of my flaws tripped me up yesterday. Took my husband out for a meal which was about £80 and then went for drinks afterwards. I wanted to go out on a date and pay for dinner due to my increased pay this month and as a thank you for all the times he has paid for me over the years. We had a nice time but I insisted on going to an off-licence on the way home to buy more wine. I had half a glass when I got in and then tipped the rest down the sink this morning. £10 literally down the drain, I don’t know why I do these things. I hadn’t had a drink for three weeks before last night so I’ve woken up with hangxiety and remorse over my lost £10. I will get over it but it means I only have about £3 left from my budget for the week to get to work so will need to borrow from next week. Honestly I think I might actually be done with drinking, but because people expect me to do it I carry on anyway. Nothing good ever comes of it and it’s so expensive!

So no money to buy anything for myself this week. I’m going away at the weekend so will be trying to keep that on budget. London is not cheap but I’m staying with a relative and it’s only two nights so I’ll do my best. Thank god my husband is driving; I know the cost of petrol is crazy but it’s nowhere near as expensive as getting an Avanti train, they’re ridiculous!
