Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Bright and sunny, temperatures due to be down a touch on yesterday, before the mid thirties predicted for this week.
I haven't posted over the weekend, I don't know why but I've been feeling so down in the dumps. No reason for it, and I've given myself a talking to. I'm going out today, only to lids to top up, and then to the local As* a for petrol. When I went to Morries on Friday their petrol was 6p a litre more. It was still on a quarter of a tank, so no rush.
No idea what's for tea, maybe something I get while out.
Sending love and hugs to the poorlies, and those with family members causing concern. Have a good day all, take care.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hopefully you have bright sunshine like there is here.
Hope you feel better Remmie. Surprisingly petrol in Dingwall (the middle of nowhere) was much cheaper (10p a litre) than here so I filled up before I came home.
Glad your DD is enjoying Vietnam dp1, I loved it there.
Pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday WL.
Hoping you are feeling a lot better Suffolksue.
I completely ran out of energy yesterday and the torrential rain didn't help. Once it stopped I went for a walk to take the soft plastics and glass to the recycling point, felt better after that. The sun came out about 3pm so the washing was put outside and it dried quite quickly. I've the bedding from the single bed that I sold in the WM so will hang that out shortly. Blanched the beans and got them in the freezer and annoyed my neighbours with potatoes and beetroot, one of them had just made bread so brought some round for me as a thank you.
Allotments to visit this morning then I'm off to Glasgow with my friend from over the road to meet with an ex colleague, should be good to catch up.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX

Morning folks and apologies for being MIA last week. It's been bad news on bad news and I am feeling flattened by it all. I won't waffle on about it but bad news for both my besties - BF's DH got his fast track appointments last week - some bad news and some not so bad. Bus Buddy got her appointment at St James, Leeds, and bad news for her, though what I suspected. She is waiting for the next appointment for the op and is taking it badly and finding it difficult. I am a sounding board for them both and it's hard coping with it all.. Then out of the blue DD called in on Tuesday to tell me she had needed a repeat mammogram. She'd kept that quiet as she knows what a worrier I am and got the result that morning. A small tumour (caught very early thank goodness) so she is waiting an appointment for an op. She hasn't told the girls yet as they were flying to France the next day and didn't want it spoiling their holiday. She'll tell them when they get back on Wednesday. There were two birthdays to celebrate whilst there - youngest DGD was 16 on Thursday and eldest DGD 22 tomorrow.
So I am feeling rather unsociable and depressed by all the bad news so my posting may be a bit sporadic for now. I haven't read back on what I have missed on here yet but hoping all are well'. Take care all x

Yes, the sun is shining here @Camelot101 - after the unremitting rain it's so lovely to see. And the forecast is good for the rest of the week. Found this on the web "While a 5p-per-litre rural fuel duty rebate scheme covers select remote UK communities, broad government pump price relief is limited, leaving drivers to manage costs through local price comparisons and fuel-efficient driving habit" Have a fab time in Glasgow.
My morning was interrupted by some great news from my beloved DN in Australia. It's a long story but…she's managed to arrange that one of my great-nieces travel down from Brisbane to Melbourne to meet up with the three 'lost' great-niblings for a few days. The lost ones are from my deceased nephew whose partner mostly withdrew from all family. I tried to get them together back in 2022 but failed so this is the best news I've had in a very long time. It's a start! TBH I burst into tears during the phone call and they're not far away even now.
On more mundane matters, today will one of finance, juggling monies around and doing some walking. This blooming watch is a real driver, I could easily become obsessed with the stats.
@remmie - we all have down times, some of which last for longer than is good. The dumps are never far away, fending them off is an art. I really hope you are able to feel better soon.
Just read triple bad news from @TravellingAbuela - how awful for everyone. I can only send hugs to you. Coping with the health problems of others is so wearing on the nerves and emotions, I hope you can keep your spirits a bit up. Remember, we are all here to listen and support. In amongst all the worry you must look after yourself too. ❤️
xx

{{hugs}} to @TravellingAbuela on hearing such sad news. Hope you start to feel brighter soon @remmie
Flooring was delivered on Friday afternoon so they will be starting in the kitchen today. Can't wait to see how it looks. Stuck upstairs again but thank goodness I'm a reader as tv is rubbish during the day but I can lose myself in a book to make the time go a bit quicker! I'll go on my exercise bike later too.
Have a good day all x

Morning all. Bright and sunny here already so another load of post holiday washing out on the line.
Today we are getting the bus to the city centre as we need to replace a broken photo frame and look for another bit of DGS's birthday present. I also have a voucher for 2 free drinks in JL.
We had a busy day yesterday and got lots of bits done, resulting in a bag for the charity shop sitting in the hall. We still need to put our big suitcases back in the loft and empty 2 large tubs of bedding plants that died whilst we were away.
Egg on a small piece of sourdough toast for breakfast today, so that should keep me going beyond lunchtime. DH broke into some chocolate last night so I succumbed to a bit of that.
TA: not good news at all and I'm not sure I'd be able to keep things to myself. Best wishes to all concerned.
Wishing everyone a good start to the week.

Morning all, thanks for the start off @Gers.
It's another clear, bright and sunny morning with no breeze at all and on the cool side so far. It should warm up later in the day although we're only in the high-teens range of temperatures before it gets hotter tomorrow.
I had fun yesterday gathering and flattening the empty boxes/packaging I'd been keeping for Justin and that's released two empty shelves in the built-in cupboard in the small bedroom. I'm going to use them as storage for buys of toilet rolls, laundry liquid etc when I see them on offer - winter prep and all that. The fabric I'm keeping is in the WM to test for shrinkage before I make anything up and a trawl of my patterns has also resulted in some that I won't use leaving the house. The ones I got from magazines have been recycled and 'proper' patterns are in the CS bag.
Just the usual housework stuff to do today and, depending on energy levels, this afternoon I'll either go for a walk or have a nap - I was up at silly o'clock this morning for some unknown reason. Oh, and bake a loaf of bread but that's no hardship since the BM does all the hard work. 😁 No idea what's for tea but the freezer will provide!
@remmie - That feeling of being down in the dumps for no reason is a real pain, I hope it doesn't hang around too long.
@TA - I missed your posts last week but fully understand the reason. I'm sorry you've so much bad news and echo what Gers has said about looking after yourself while providing support to others, be they friends or family. Post whenever you can and/or feel up to it. ((Hugs))
And so begins a new week that I hope will be a good one for us all. Take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x That's lovely news regarding your Australian family x
Happy Anniversary to the @snoozer 's x
Sorry to hear DMum is still in hospital @AlwaysAllie I hope she will appreciate the visit from her friend x
Awful to hear of so many ill-health troubles @TravellingAbuela it's good to be a listening ear but does take it's toll. Please feel free to offload on here if you need to xx
We had some dreadful news yesterday. DH's aunt died unexpectedly due to choking. Very very shocked. She was a lovely lady. We will be travelling to Scotland at some point for her funeral.
BIL is here to commence work on several projects including a greenhouse base and our fitted bedroom wardrobes. He will need a digger for tomorrow which DH is organising. It's all go.
Dinner is a simple smoked salmon tagliatelle dish.
Have a good day all
