We are going away today until Tuesday, it will be a nice change, hope the weather stays fairly ok.

Hi all

A quick hello before I get up and face the day

DM still in hospital and likely to be for the short term (not sure how short that is!?). Need to try and see a Dr early in the week and see what the plan is. She’s fed up but bright enough and being well cared for. I’m picking up one of her closest friends and taking her to visit today.

Morning all - it's very gloomy and damp here though my spirits are high.

Have a good trip @ScarletRibbons. Happy Anniversary @snoozer and Mrsnoozer. Sorry that your DM is still in hospital @AlwaysAllie.

Half an hour ago my power cut off. I used Powertrack to report it, got a text saying that it would be back on by 1.30p.m. yet here it is already! I had my shoes and coat on just about to drive up to the big town for a prolonged mooch around, now I have my first coffee.

I hope that all is well with all. Hugs.

I’m sorry your DM is still in hospital AA but if she’s settled and been looked after that is good and im sure she will be pleased to see her friend although a lot of running around for you take care of yourself. Pleased the power is back on Gers kept a few more pennies in your purse than if you had popped into town . I think I’m having a lazy day I’ve got a pork joint in cooking I will make Yorkshire pudding and veg later . It’s overcast here rain forcast for later then we are in for a warm week I will decide I might go out for a good walk later . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all

Bright and sunny here again I got all of my holiday clothes washed yesterday so they can be hung up ready for packing I might start to pack the toiletries today, this time in two weeks we will be there 😀

Bbq for dinner I have some salt and pepper pork belly which looks delicious and I have some fresh beetroot to cook and corn on the cob.

I want to spend some time in the garden today and have a tidy up and do some dead heading, we cut the wisteria back yesterday it had gone mad and was all over the front of the house, I have also decided to paint the outside window sills they are concrete and look a bit grubby but that will have to wait for the plants to die back, maybe once we are home from holiday.

Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you have a lovely few days away.

It was pouring down when I got up and think it had been all night, it's stopped for now but it's very grey and gloomy, washing will have to go on the pulley today. I did manage to get the bedding dry yesterday and put back on the bed.

Glad the power is back on Gers. Have a good break Snoozer, hope you and the family recover quickly, Happy Anniversary. Wishing your DM well Allie.

Very productive morning at the allotment yesterday, managed to give away one of the courgettes and some potatoes. Made courgette chutney yesterday that will have to sit for a while (probably until next year as I'm not that keen on chutney but DS2 and DP love it). I have lots of green beans to process for the freezer today.

DS2 put together some Ikea furniture for me for the little one's room so I've moved toys from the under bed storage boxes into the new cubes so it's all looking much tidier. I'm sure she will like it when she gets back from holiday.

Not a lot planned for today, there are lots of little things I can be getting on with.

It's another sunny morning with high wispy cloud, just a slight breeze, no sign of rain. We're due to get the really high temperatures again on Tuesday through to Thursday with a solar eclipse (not quite total) on Wednesday evening. I remember where I was, who with etc for the last total one in 1999 and being quite disappointed by it all, thanks to a lot of cloud.

Yesterday's mission to sort through my fabric stash has been partially accomplished and I now have two piles, one of donations and a small one of possible keeps. Anything I can't find a suitable pattern for will join the donate pile so that's today's job, along with flattening and recycling several empty cardboard boxes that I've been keeping for Justin. Tea tonight is sausage & mushroom casserole, then I'll settle down to watch episode #2 of Van der Valk.

Morning all.

Now back from holiday and have a full airing cupboard of clothes, waiting to be ironed. I have yet more to wash but will do that tonight.

Played for a posh birthday event last night, which went well. I'm pleased about that as we had all been worrying about it and there had been lots of instructions and messages sent beforehand.

Today I'll make a start on the ironing and then might check some kitchen cupboards and have a sort out. I've already discarded two bags of nuts as they were long out of date plus I'm still having to be careful of what I eat because of this implant. Having seen a video clip of myself dancing last week I feel I need to lose some weight! I'm at the top end of my BMI but definitely looked chubby so will see what I can manage if I buckle down to it. Someone I know has lost several stone using the jabs and, whilst she feels so much better, I wouldn't want to go as low as that.

Anyway, the hot weather is still with us here and no hope of rain for a while so will do a recce in the garden and see what needs doing.

Hello everyone

I started posting earlier then eldest DD rang, she's in Vietnam for work for 2 weeks, it's the first time we've managed a chat all week, she's been texting and sending photos but she's 6 hours ahead, which complicates things, especially as she's been working long days and being wined and dined every night. She's had the weekend off and has been really enjoying being in Saigon.

My washing machine leaked all over the kitchen floor yesterday so I've ordered a new one, to be delivered on Tuesday. Mind I've had it for at least 12 years so it's done well. I've done all my ironing and tidied, I have both children from about 4pm for the next 2 nights. We have another event at the library tomorrow morning, poetry this time. It's dull and drizzly today and quite windy but forecast to be nice and warm next week, I'm planning to take little one to the beach on Thursday.

I'm going to go down to visit mam and dad for a couple of hours now, I'll go down to the shop first for some more fruit for her, she'll have finished what I took on Thursday.
