I found the best way to sell Vinyl was at a boot fair. depending on what it is, you could try the free classifieds in your local paper.
I work in IT too - it's difficult to get work fixing PCs etc as there's usually a few established people doing that already, but it's worth a shot. Best thing is word of mouth. You could try just going to any local independent businesses and asking if they need a website (chains will already have them) if you know basic web design.
Some of the following might have already been said but -
Selling a house costs money, and some of it does have to be paid up front - we did it as cheaply as possible using online conveyancers etc but still had to find a few hundred quid up front.
Sky do freesat which is completely free except the setup fee, as you've already got the box and the dish you might be able to downgrade for no cost.
Also anything you buy or switch, for example car insurance, using uswitch etc use Quidco to get cashback. Plus check out online surveys as well - these soon add up. There's a good thread about them somewhere around. I use Ciao, Valued Opinions and a couple of others and I normally get around £10/month. But it's handy because you forget about it and then when you really need it you have it there.
As for car insurance, if you reduce your mileage don't forget to tell them (if you don't switch), and increase your excess if possible.0 -
Can you get a second job in the evenings and weekends?
Not nice (take it from me) but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Deliver pizzas or catalogues door to door.
Anything just to push that income figure up a bit."carpe that diem"0 -

Ok, its late but I thought I should post an update.
What started out as a very bleak week has actually been very positive. :j
Along with the continued money saving all round (which is now becoming somewhat of a crusade and starting to rub off on one of my friends too lol) (i managed to get around 60mpg out of the car on most journeys this week!), have spoken to cccs at lenth earlier in the week and they advised me exactly what to do with regards to my finances and were very very helpful and knew exactly what they were doing I have to say. So council tax, mortgage etc etc all under control. Welcome have said they will accept a minimal payment to settle the account (still waiting for citi to respond, and black horse).
Even better (and fortunate) work have said that my average expenses are around £750 a month so they are going to put £800 into a new account I am setting up just for expenses as an expense float so I don't have to use my own money! Then when my excess from the mileage etc comes in each month I will transfer it to my savings account to accrue and to be used for car running costs and hopefully some left over. They have also said not to worry about the advance and other monies (apart from the 3x£200 payments left to cover my interest free loan with them) until later in the year when things have improved. I have to say I am very lucky as they are very understanding and good to work for. Should get my bonus end of the month as well.
Anyway, as I said it is late so I may have also forgotten some other stuff. Still work to do (must do things properly) so Aldi tomorrow, stuff on Ebay on Sunday, looking into extra work, and looking for next collectors fair to take my old vinyl to as well amongst other things.
Also I must say that sorting all this out (and with a pinch of luck thrown in) has led to more positive actions in all aspects of my life (work, relationship, friendships etc) so I am really glad that when the chips where down and I decided it was make or break that I posted on here, so a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for posting. You all deserve a big pat on the back :T

It sounds like you work for a great company"carpe that diem"0 -
Congratulations for grabbing the nettle, and it sounds as if things are on their way to being sorted!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
