Being chased for debts that were included in my bankruptcy
Hi, I am new here and would like some advice.
I went bankrupt on 3rd December 2025. According to the insolvency register, I am automatically being discharged from bankruptcy on 3rd December 2026.
Up until recently, I thought my bankruptcy was going well. I've only heard from the official receiver once, and that was the bankruptcy interview. It was very informal and I've heard nothing since last December.
Unfortunately, a few of my creditors included in the bankruptcy have recently sold my accounts to debt companies, and these debt companies are chasing me for the debt. Link Financial keep saying that I've not kept to the payment arrangement, and CRS are offering me a 40% discount to settle the debt.
I am starting to get worried that something is going wrong with my bankruptcy.
For context, I haven't and didn't have any property when I went bankrupt, and I was in receipt of Universal Credit and PIP. I am still in receipt of them now.
Can anyone put my mind at rest, please? I'm a bit of a worrier.
Thanks in advance.

Send them a copy of your bankruptcy confirmation, a link or a screenshot to the confirmation on the London Gazette website, tell them the debt was accrued before the date of the bankruptcy and any further contact will be deemed to be harassment. Copy the Official Reciever in also.
Really wouldnt worry.

This is common practice…all your debts are covered and this is just a fishing exercise...nothing they can do

Insolvency debts get sold on all the time, as there is a chance the insolvency can fail.
With Bankruptcy there is no such prospect, all of your debts are included, and Bankruptcy does not fail.
These debt buyers/collectors send out standard slightly ambiguous letters, such as you describe, in an effort to catch you off guard, and introduce doubt in your mind, its all a game of chance for them, they are, as @luvchocolate describes, on a fishing trip, and have absolutely no remedy against you now.
So you can send them a copy of your Bankruptcy order, or just let the children play, personally I'd let them play and see how weird it can get, then have a good laugh at them, its the best remedy you can get, trust me on that.
