Great digital camera - £84.95

Been searching for a good value digital camera for a while and think I've come across a gem

Fujifilm A920

Has the following:

9.3 megapixels - much more than you'll ever need
2.7" screen - huuge viewing screen
4x Optical zoom - This is the zoom that counts, ignore digital zoom, the norm is only 3x

Also has some good low light levels and anti blur features and its very straightforward to use if buying for someone who is not a tech geek

Some online retailers have for as low as £79.99 if you use a price comparison site but for an extra fiver you can collect it from a comet store and get 3.5% quidco!! :T

Doers it have a viewfinder and rechargable batteries?
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
  • comes with 2xaa batteries, not sure if they are rechargeable but you can always swap em for rechargeables, got myself some really cool usb rechargeable batteries from rbuyr the other day, you plug them in your comp while its on and they are aa size batteries. No idea on the viewfinder im afriad, you should be able to see from a pic of it (loads on the web)

    His conclusion says
Bottom line - as stated before, the A920 and A900 are virtually the same camera, with the exception of the larger LCD. Like the previous model, we have mixed feelings about the Fuji FinePix A920. While it produced nice 9-megapixel images, and the larger 2.7-inc display is a welcomed addition, the slower shooting performance times, and sub VGA movie mode bring it's appeal down a bit. Even at the low price of $199 or less, there are plenty of compact models out there that offer equal if not better image quality, performance, and at least VGA resolution movies.

You can get all the range direct from fujifilm - I have bought one yearly for the past 3 years (I just upgrade and sell off the older 1) - they are refurbs but you would never be able to tell as they always look new to me - most of them are shop stock returns and have never been used in my opinion (the box comes with refurb printed on it tho).

    Saves a few quid.

    Greetings,

I use an older model of Fujifilm FinePix S7000. I bring this up because 4 years ago it was top of the line consumer model camera with 6.3 MP.and it still works great. I prefer cameras with just a bit more mass so I can do more with them.

The camera you are looking at is very small, and if you just want it for convenience then perhaps it will work for you well.

The Fujifilm cameras are a result of Fujifilm and Nikon joining some of their knowledge and expertise, and the combination can be a very nice camera.

Fujifilm brings their experience in coloration with their background in film and experience in camera construction. Fujifilm cameras are very nice. I like mine because I use lots of batteries and I can use rechargeable AA batteries which work great. Digital cameras are 'high drain' and disposable alkalines do not last very long in them. Alkaline AA batteries are also very expensive, not to mention the waste problem when they are discarded. Rechargeable NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries are great for digital cameras, plus they recharge fairly quickly. Very economical.

A good site for batteries is http://www.batteryboulevard.com

I like cameras that have more selections in focus, shutter, aperature, plus a small zoom really can enhance the use and exploration in taking pictures.

    Have fun,
