"Member, associate or fellow of a professional body "
Do you have any contacts in engineering who are members of the IET, IMechE or any other Engineering body? Or who are Chartered/Incorporated Engineers or EngTech?
If not, what about other professional bodies such as accountancy, teaching, medical, pharmacy, HR, Management, Chartered Surveyors … there are loads!

Farringdon.
You have been demonstrably unwell in recent months and years.
While SC is available to those with mental health conditions they need to be disclosed and under control.
So instead of who can vouch for you perhaps the questions are:
- should anyone vouch for you?
- are they declining to do so because they think this is unwise?
I very much hope you are getting the help you need.

How recent was your military post? Speak to the Unit Welfare, British Legion or SAAFA for advise.

Thanks, i'll try those ideas.
Problem is, every time you apply for one of these jobs, often times you get asked for such an "official reference", and because i've tapped all my official references so many times, they are fed up of re-referencing me.
The problem is that i have had to leave a large number of jobs because they were insisting that i put dodgy electronics into production for them, (including military work)….so i literally had to leave the job to help them. In each case I offered to fix but they refused.
Every time i leave a job, it can take 2-3 months to then get another job…and you end up with a CV full of gaps…and then they say they therefore need an official ref for you……but i dont think i should be singled out like this…because i "did the right thing" in leaving the jobs because they were messing up.
If you get told to put a dodgy power supply on military equipment then you have no choice other than to hand in notice….unless you want to be a "bad guy" and put a dodgy power supply on military equipment.
I always offer to fix, but often the top managers dont understand electronics and just go back to the senior manager who has given you the duff job in the first place.
How do i get round this?
Im thinking about writing to my MP, and saying look, the above is the case, can they give me a ref?
Any other ideas?

What on earth makes you think your MP is going to give a reference to someone they don’t know and have no ability to comment on the quality of their work, professionalism, et cetera.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.3 -
Following the comment above from @elsien have you had any form of professional work relationship with the MP- ie have you worked for them, had any reason to be able to get a 'job' reference from them as otherwise the suggestion doesn't make any sense.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Would appear that OP has successfully secured employment
