Full Terms and Conditions

1. This
   Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 17 or over,
   excluding employees of the Promoter, its agents and anyone
   professionally associated with this Promotion.
2. No
   purchase necessary; however, internet access is required. A valid email
   address is required for Entry Route 1. A public Instagram account is
   required for Entry Route 2.
3. Promotion Period: Enter between 09:00 BST on the 31st July 2026 and 23:59 BST on the 11th September 2026 inclusive.
4. To Enter:
   1. Entry Route 1: Download Autotrader app (or update current version), sign into your
      account (or create one for free). Then click on the banner on the app
      home screen, check your details are correct and click "enter giveaway"
      in order to be entered into this month's Prize Draw. Entrants must
      ensure they are using the most up-to-date version of the Autotrader app
      (which may require installing the latest updates on their device) in
      order to participate.
   2. Entry Route 2: Log onto your Instagram account (or create one for free) and comment by tagging a friend under the pinned promotional post on @autotraderuk
      to be entered into this month's Prize Draw. Entrants must keep their
      Instagram profile on a public setting and ensure their account settings
      have all filters turned off to allow messages from anyone for at least 4
      weeks following the end of the Promotion Period in order to be
      contacted as a winner.
5. Maximum of 1 entry is permitted per person, per Entry Route, per Prize Draw.
6. The Prize: There will be 1 winner who will win 1x BYD Dolphin Surf worth £21,975.
   The vehicle colour will be dependent on the winner's choice and stock
   availability at the time of winner confirmation. The winner will also
   receive up to £1,300 to use for their insurance for the vehicle.
   Insurance cost is covered by MoneySuperMarket. Additionally, the winner
   will receive £1,000 in public charging credit. The credit is covered by
   Octopus Electroverse.
7. Further Prize Details and Conditions:
   1. The winner must be aged 17 or over at the time of entering the Prize Draw.
   2. The
      winner must have and must show either a provisional licence (if they
      are a learner driver) or a full driving licence valid in the UK. In
      certain circumstances the Promoter may waive this requirement where the
      winner can show (to the Promoter's reasonable satisfaction) that the
      winner is unable to drive due to a disability or medical condition but
      wishes to own a car for a carer to use for the winner's benefit.
   3. The winner will be asked to prove they are a resident of the UK.
   4. The
      prize will be available for home delivery or collection from the
      retailer site (travel expenses will be reimbursed by Autotrader up to
      £200).
   5. If the prize is to be driven on a public highway,
      insurance cover must be obtained by the winner prior to collection of
      the Prize.
   6. Maintenance, services and running costs of the
      vehicle are the responsibility of the winner from the date of ownership.
      This date will be confirmed with the winner in writing following winner
      acknowledgement of the Prize.
   7. Vehicle warranty will vary dependent on the Prize. Warranty and its duration will be confirmed with the winner before delivery.
   8. Any
      pictures depicting the prizes on any media including press
      advertisements, posters or TV commercials are indicative only and the
      actual prize may vary from the depictions. The Promotion does not
      constitute an endorsement or recommendation of the product being offered
      as prize.
   9. The Prize must be taken as stated and no compensation
      will be payable if a winner is unable to use the Prize as stated. The
      winner will be liable for all costs and expenses not stated relating to
      claiming the prize.
   10. The winner will receive up to £1,300 to use
       for their insurance for the vehicle. The insurance cost is covered by
       MoneySuperMarket.
   11. The winner must share evidence of their
       purchase of insurance with MoneySuperMarket in order to be reimbursed
       for the cost of the insurance.
   12. The winner will also receive £1,000 in Octopus Electroverse public charging credit to use.
   13. The
       winner must download the Octopus Electroverse app and set up a free
       account in order to claim the credit. There are no subscriptions
       necessary. The credit code has no expiry date.
   14. The winner will
       not be able to re-sell the vehicle for three months following delivery.
       Should the winner wish to sell during the first three months, they must
       obtain the consent of the Promoter by emailing competitions@autotrader.co.uk.
8. Winner Selection: 1 provisional winner will be randomly selected from all valid entries
   received during the Promotion Period. For your total confidence, the
   prize draw will be conducted by The Competitions Agency, an independent promotional verification service, within 3 working days of the end of the Promotion Period.
9. Winner Notification: The provisional winner will be contacted either via the email address
   connected to their Autotrader account or the social media account used
   to enter within 7 working days of Winner Selection and will be required
   to respond to confirm eligibility and acceptance of the Prize, within 14
   days of initial contact. This must be done by following the
   instructions and responding directly to the email/direct message. Once
   eligibility has been confirmed, the provisional winner will be confirmed
   as a winner. If the provisional winner does not respond to the initial
   contact within 14 days, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify
   the provisional winner. If the provisional winner is disqualified, the
   Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to a reserve selected in
   the same manner. Reserve winner may have less time to respond.
10. Prize Acceptance: The winner will be notified within 28 days of acceptance of the Prize
    to arrange delivery of the Prize. In the unlikely event that a Prize
    doesn't arrive within 28 days of Prize Acceptance, the winner will have a
    further 28 days to inform the Promoter by emailing competitions@autotrader.co.uk.
    If the winner does not inform the Promoter within this time frame, the
    Promoter will reserve the right to not reissue the prize or limit its
    value at its sole discretion.
11. Moderation: The Promoter reserves the right to reject entries which, in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter:
    1. are in breach of these Terms and Conditions;
    2. contain
       any content that is offensive, harmful, objectionable or which is
       otherwise unsuitable for publication including with respect to race,
       religion, origin or gender, or which could reflect negatively upon the
       name, reputation or goodwill of the Promoter or any brand partner;
    3. contains or refers to any unauthorised third-party brand or reference any third-party names, logos and/or trademarks;
    4. contains any content which has been created by an AI tool or which has been influenced by AI; or
    5. promotes any political agenda.
12. When
    the winner is communicating with the Promoter and when collecting the
    Prize, the Promoter reserves the right in its absolute discretion to
    withhold the Prize if the winner fails to comply with the directions of
    the Promoter or acts in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to
    the public or is, in the opinion of the Promoter, anti-social in any
    manner or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to others. Whilst
    accepting the Prize the winner must not: be drunk, intoxicated, under
    the influence of drugs, underage, be abusive, threatening, make or
    incite racial abuse, chant, use offensive language, make obscene
    gestures, throw items, behave anti-socially, carry laser pens, bring
    animals (except guide dogs), carry offensive weapons or illegal
    substances, carry candles, climb any structure, make excessive noise,
    offer any item for sale, damage the venue or smoke. Failure to comply
    with these Terms and Conditions may result in the Promoter withholding
    the Prize.
13. Provided no objection is
    received, if you are the winner, your surname and county of residence
    will be made available by the Promoter by sending an email request to competitions@autotrader.co.uk
    one month after the close of the Promotion, for a period of 8 weeks. You
    can object to your surname or county of residence being published or
    request for the amount of information being published to be reduced
    during the Winner Notification process. Without prejudice, the Promoter
    will provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority on
    reasonable request.
14. The Prize is not
    transferable or exchangeable, unless express consent has been given by
    the Promoter, and cannot be redeemed for monetary value or for any other
    form of compensation. If for any reason any element of the Prize is not
    available, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion to
    substitute another prize for it, of equal or greater value.
15. If
    the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for reasons
    including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention,
    fraud, dishonesty, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the
    control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration,
    security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the
    Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers
    with the entry process or does not comply with these Terms and
    Conditions and/or to cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion or
    invalidate any affected entries.
16. No
    responsibility can be taken for entries which are lost, delayed,
    corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or which cannot be
    delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason. Proof of sending
    will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter does not
    guarantee continuous or secure access to the microsite.
17. This
    Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or
    associated with Instagram. By entering you are providing your
    information to the Promoter and not to Instagram, and Instagram is not
    responsible for any element of this Promotion.
18. The
    Promoter may request that the winner participate in publicity arising
    from the Promotion. The winner is under no obligation to participate and
    may decline this request. Participation is at the winner's discretion
    and is not a condition of Prize Acceptance.
19. It
    is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct,
    up-to-date details when entering the Promotion and/or confirming
    acceptance of the Prize in order for their Prize to be processed. The
    Promoter cannot be held responsible for winners failing to supply
    accurate information which affects Prize acceptance or delivery of their
    Prize.
20. The Promoter reserves the
    right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The Promoter may require
    such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose
    and a prize may be withheld unless and until the Promoter is satisfied
    with the verification.
21. The Promoter
    together with any associated agencies and companies will not be liable
    for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or
    consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is
    suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's
    negligence) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using the
    Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Nothing
    will exclude the Promotor's liability for death or personal injury as a
    result of its negligence.
22. The
    Promoter seeks to run a fair and secure promotion and prevent abuse and
    cheating. If you enter in a way that is not consistent with these Terms
    and Conditions, your entry (and any of your associated aliases) will be
    disqualified. Any Prize awarded may be void and recoverable, and the
    Promoter reserves the right to bar you from entering future promotions
    for a period of at least six months. For this reason, the Promoter
    reserves the right at any point to:
    1. Verify the
       eligibility of entrants and/or the provisional winner through multiple
       means by requesting such information it considers reasonably necessary
       for this purpose. Entry or a Prize may be withheld until verification is
       completed.
    2. Disqualify entries that are not made directly by the individual entering the Promotion.
    3. Disqualify entries made using anonymous email services such as, but not limited to, GuerillaMail, Dispostable or Mailinator.
    4. Disqualify
       bulk entries from individuals, trade, consumer groups or third parties,
       incomplete entries and entries submitted by macros or other automated
       means.
    5. Disqualify entries beyond the maximum allowed, or those
       using techniques such as 'script', 'brute force', masking identity by
       manipulating IP addresses, using aliases or identities other than their
       own or any other means.
    6. Disqualify entrants who tamper with the entry process.
    7. Disqualify entries which, in some other way, do not meet the requirements of these Terms and Conditions.
    8. Cancel,
       modify or suspend the Promotion should it not be capable of running as
       planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised
       intervention, fraud, dishonesty, technical failures, or any other
       causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the
       administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this
       Promotion.
23. The Promoter
    will not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations or any
    delay in performing its obligations within these Terms and Conditions
    if an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs caused by (but not
    limited to) global or regional health crises, weather conditions, fire,
    flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, terrorist activity,
    hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, epidemic,
    pandemic, famine, plague or other natural calamities and acts of God, or
    any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter.
24. The
    Promoter may refuse to award a Prize in the event of any entrant's
    fraud, dishonesty, breach or non-entitlement under these Terms and
    Conditions or seek recovery of its value if the Prize has been awarded.
25. Any
    and all personal data supplied for the running of this Promotion will
    be used solely for the purpose of this Promotion by the Promoter and/or
    by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the Promotion on
    behalf of the Promoter and will not be disclosed to a third party for
    any other purpose unless your positive consent has been obtained. Your
    personal data will be handled in accordance with the Promoter's privacy
    policy, available at: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/privacy-notice .
26. If
    any provisions of these Terms and Conditions are judged to be invalid,
    illegal or unenforceable, this will not affect or impact the
    continuation in full force and effect the remainder of the provisions.
27. By entering this Promotion, you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
28. If
    a discrepancy between these Terms and Conditions and the details in any
    promotional material arises, the details in these Terms and Conditions
    will prevail.
29. These Terms and
    Conditions are governed by English law and their interpretation and
    application will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts
    of England and Wales. Residents of Scotland and Northern Ireland may
    bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction.
