I use it to thicken things that are a bit sloppy for the little ones to feed themselves without making a huge mess...you know that age where they will no longer let you feed them but they haven't got quite enough skill at balancing the spoon the right way up and so half of their meal ends up down their clothes or on the floor etc.
You could also use it mixed in with porridge or other cereals.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0 -
Baby Rice is a substance that cannot be digested by the body and passes through the whole digestive system unchanged. It has no nutritional value whatsoever and is used merely as a sustance to start a child eating solid food.I personally would advertise it on freecycle and pass it on to someone who will actually use it.Other than that there really isnt anything worth making with it so I'd bin it

I stick it in soup when i need to thicken it a touch.0

ewwwwwwwwww no !
it really is like wall paper paste - my girls only had it to thicken proper food - I think they had it once on its own but they always preferred real food !!!0 -

I chucked mine away. My dd had it for about the first 4 days of weaning before I gave up and fed her fruit and veg. I didnt think anyone would want an opened box and its no use for anything else.0

i used to make a dessert with mine for the kids when i had cooked up a lot of pears or apples for them ( mine did not like the pears but i had lots cooked up) as the fruit is very wet when cooked i made it into a dessert by adding the rice. This also made a good breakfast when i added yogurt to the to top of the fruit / rice mix to.

I thought baby rice was the same thing as ground rice -just more expensive 'cos it's in a special box with pics of babies on:D I always gave my 3 ground rice.
You can use ground rice in biscuits, so why not try baby rice in its place ? Here's a recipe0 -
When we started weaning the little one I asked hubby to pick up a packet of baby rice on the way home from work. Trying to be helpful he brought 4 different brands. Little one had been amazing at eating and moved swiftly on from baby rice to mums homemade baba food yum. Unfortunately I now have 3 1/2 packs of unused baby rice.
Any ideas to use then up? Its looks very much like flour so wondering if I could use it up in cakes etc, perhaps by mixing it with normal flour?
I'm also looking for a rec for chicken burgers. Got beef, lamb and pork rec. Do I do chicken the same way and would I need to mince the chicken first? Couldn't spot a rec on any of the numerous BBQ threads in the index, but got some good ideas for other dishes.
Thanks guys :rotfl:
