I'm up and at 'em this morning despite the horrible overnight rain which is being slow to clear.
The builder chap came in good time yesterday, he's the bloke who toots every school morning as he drives his children to school. He's identified the problem with although the only real solution is to knock the house down and start again. It was built in the early 1800's without any foundations so fighting water incursion is an ongoing battle. The cupboard on outside wall needs to be lined / tanked and two new plasterboard panels put on inside. Rob will start later today and will be done by the time I'm home on Saturday.
Apart from the trip up first thing I only went back out to buy biscuits and milk for the worker. Then I faffed about packing, not as straightforward as I wanted, but it's done.
This morning I’ve got a quick wash on and also washed my hair. Dish washer emptied, coffee on the go and I'm almost ready for the drive down to Glasgow. I'll wait a little while to let the first thing traffic get away - so many white vans of differing sizes seem to pour out of various sites and the logging waggons get going.
Sorry @YorksLass - thought I had sent you a PM but found that I hadn't! I really hope that this week is a better one for you all. @dp1 - have a great time on holiday. And hugs to all. xx

Morning Gers and all to follow
Gers safe trip xx
It’s a bit overcast here this morning but sun due later, I have two people coming today and we are going for a walk around a local park then along the seafront to get some chips 😬 we will then walk back through town and look in a few shops.
Dinner tonight will be burger in a bun with chips for the others, I will have salad with mine as don’t want chips twice in a day!
I have a wash in the wm and will get that hung out before work, and I need to do my shopping tonight ready for collection Thursday.
Yorkslass I hope things are a bit calmer now xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, thanks Gers, have a good trip and hope the work has gone by the time you get home again.
It's quiet on here today, but I had trouble getting on at first so maybe others have too.
Had a lovely walk on the edge of the moors yesterday. We met a Grandad and his grandson who were taking in the view of the Pennines in 1 direction and the M/cr skyscrapers in another.
My oldest friend is coming to meet up tomorrow so lunch out is on the cards.
Today will mainly be spent gathering invoices etc. for DS2 to give to the accountant. He's already taken some but can't remember what so it means printing out some others. I'm going to see if my old printer still works as I can just make copies from DH records, instead of the newer printer with the ink subscription that charges if you exceed your chosen quota.
Chicken stir fry for tea. Have a good day everyone.

Going to be a hot one today so all the windows and doors are open. I'm baking twinks early before the sun comes into the kitchen. Nothing else going on today
Hope everyone has safe travels x
Have a good day everyone x

Good morning
A sunny start here, although the forecast says cloudy, should go up to 29 today.
Not much happening here, pickie bits for tea with salad. We're low on the ground today so I hope everyone is as well as can be.
Have good day all, take care.

Afternoon all, thanks @Gers for starting us off. Have a safe trip to Glasgow and fingers crossed your builder chap has everything done by the time you get back home.
Sunny intervals today, a bit on the breezy side, but milder as temperatures are back up into the low to mid twenties. We've had a tiny bit of drizzle but not enough to make much difference. My hanging baskets are coming to an end now; the excessive heat and strong breezes haven't done them any favours but overall they've done pretty well.
I know I said I'd try to be a bit more interesting today but that's easier said than done when life is just chugging along! 😁 Better that though than the dramas of last week 😮. I've thought of how to deal with worst case scenarios if push comes to shove but I've decided my best course of action is to stand back and let DS and DD get on with their own problems. I will give advice (only if asked for, of course) and might be able come up with suggestions they might not have thought of. Ever the pragmatist - that's me. Other people have far worse problems and I have a lot to be thankful for.
This morning I had a (not so pleasant) surprise when I opened the curtains - a burned out dustbin has been dumped in front of the lock-up garages over the road, so someone is missing a bin. The lady in the next block has been in touch with the council to have it removed.
DS had a phone interview with a work coach yesterday who seemed much more helpful and knowledgeable than the last one; I got the feeling that one was more interested in box ticking rather than helping. As an example, he didn't explain there is financial help available for transport costs when going for interviews. 😶 Only a small thing but it helps.
I've got the bread maker on and have been reviewing cupboard supplies; I think my next grocery order will need to be a basket of staples, the pantry shelves are looking a bit bare. This afternoon I'm making hummus and a batch of fruit scones to use up the last bit of Greek yogurt. Tea tonight is cooked gammon, hash browns and either baked beans or tomatoes. It was going to be an egg but we've had a cheese omelette for breakfast.
I'll be thinking of those of you who aren't in the best of health and those caring for relatives/friends. Have a good day all, take care and make time for yourselves when you can. xx

I'm late today, I tried to log on earlier but was getting a message that the site was undergoing maintenance.
It's a lovely day, warm but very windy, I've got some towels out and they're drying nicely.
Hope your trip to Glasgow was all right Gers.
YL, your posts are always interesting I think, very newsy.
I haven't been out today, I'm making a birthday card but am making such heavy weather of it - I decided to take a break and remembered that I hadn't got on here earlier so decided to try again, success this time.
Hope everyone is ok and has as good a day as they can, take care folks.

@Scarlet - Aw, thank you. 😊

I'm exceedingly late on today as the site kept on saying it was down for maintenance.
Anyway, have done childcare for DGS x 2. We walked up to their local Library, which luckily was having a rhyme and craft session so they both enjoyed that. Played a bit in the garden and then they made a den in the living room and brought their bedding down. Left early as DSiL had finished for the day so I'm now home and cooking a CBigh*** lasagne before heading out later.
Hope everyone else is surviving; shout out to those missing too.
