Another early start, white clouds with a hint of sunshine. Yesterday I had a really fab drive down to my hairdresser. Here's a photo of the Arran ferry which was just loading up as I drove up the other fork. My hair is now tamed for another six weeks.
In the afternoon I did some weed-slaying. Since my usual gardener has been off they have run all over the place so I decided I needed to take more aggressive action. Then I sat outside for a wee while watching the blue sky fading to more white cloud.
This morning I'm off on the bus / coach down to Inveraray to meet up with the lovely @camelot1001 for a spot of lunch. We'll have about two hours before the return journeys, just right for eating and catching up. Once back I have my newly framed painting to collect, unfortunately the old frame couldn't be repaired.
Take care all. Keep safe in the sun. Hugs to all.

thanks Gers - lovely picture
Another warm day in store - I was 7 in the 1976 heatwave and don’t remember it being this uncomfortable but maybe you don’t feel it as much as a child. Definitely not enjoying it now!
Still plodding trying to keep on top of house and garden but tired from getting up early to get semi-strenuous things done before it’s too warm. I’ve never mowed the lawn at 8am before (did check with neighbours that they were up!). Going to ‘try’ to have a quieter day today - DM still needing quite a bit of help with things. No Dr or hospital appts next week so going away and catching up with v good friends that I haven’t seen since Feb. Hopefully DF can hold the fort and they’re under strict orders to ring me if there’s problems- I’m only 3hours away.
Take care all

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, looking forward to seeing you soon!
Hot again yesterdy but there was a slight breeze that made it bearable. Potatoes dug up, pea pods picked and beetroot pulled at the allotment, there was also a cucumber in the greenhouse that I picked and ate with my tea - delicious! I gave everything a good water last night.
I let next door know that I had caught a rat in the garden so they are clearing up their garden, they only have sheds and a greenhouse but there's a lot of old fencing and rubbish there. They've ordered a skip, taken down the greenhouse as they don't use it and started a tidy up - I'm now the owner of 5 lovely terracota pots that will be ideal for spring bulbs.
Hope you're ok now Snoozer.
Sounds like you got a bargain Mehefin.
Where are you off to on holiday NRA?
Hope you got the rest of your double glazing in Chrisca.
It's cooler and overcast today - not a bad thing for travelling on the bus, just hope it stays dry.
Hugs to all, take care. XX

It’s already boiling here 🥵 dd came back from Crete yesterday and said it’s so much hotter here! I put a wash load of jeans on the line yesterday they dried in 1/2 hr, it’s great for getting washing dried.
I have put another load in the wm this morning and then dd has a few bits to wash they did most of their washing in the villa so only a few bits to do.
Bbq for dinner tonight I got some Minty lamb chops yesterday and some black garlic steak kebabs, I’ve got corn on the cob and some Cornish new potatoes should be tasty.
OH turn to walk little dog today he will have to take her to the woods, big dog is grounded till Monday.
Gets and Camelot enjoy your lunch xx
AA we are the same age 😀
Snoozer sorry to hear you had to go to A&E xx
Have good days all and take care x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Enjoy your get-together with Camelot. I have fond memories of Inveraray, such a special place.
Hallelujah it feels cooler! After yesterday's horrendous heat which peaked at 34, we can expect 28 today. I was out early doors hosing all the pots before the sun got on them. A couple look dead but still got a hosing in hope of them doing a Lazarus!
I'm hoping the FreeSat box behaves itself for the match tonight as it doesn't appear to cope well with the heat! I don't usually have any problems with it but this week it's kept losing signal.
Have a good day folks and take care x

Very cool this morning with no sun yet. Expecting some later though but temperature alot lower thank goodness.
My DS has got a very large box of tomatoes to give to me that he has been given at a site he is working at. Am looking up recipes now as DH likes them but I don't apart from being cooked in sauces etc.
I'm hoping to have a siesta this afternoon so I can stay awake to watch the England match tonight. Not holding out a lot of hope but I can try!
Double glazing bloke turned up to put the handles on our new windows but his van is in the garage so waiting to hear when he can come back and finish the job. Hopefully Monday
Have a good day all x

Morning all, thanks @Gers - have a lovely lunch meet-up today with @camelot. And welcome back @MollyWindley.
Thank goodness today is cooler; it's cloudy right now but the sun is due out later when we'll be up to the mid/high 20s. I didn't get much done at all yesterday thanks to the heat but, never mind, there's nothing that can't wait. I think tonight's dinner will be one of salad and picky bits. As for tomorrow, I have no idea yet but it certainly won't be a traditional Sunday roast! 😁
@AA - Glad to hear your DM has no hospital visits or appointments next week; enjoy your catch-up break with friends.
@snoozer - I'm sorry to hear you had to visit A&E but undecided whether it was a good or bad thing they didn't find anything amiss! At least you weren't there too long.
@Scarlet - Happy new fence, good luck with the shed sort-out.
@Chrisca - Hope you get your double glazing finished on Monday.
Nothing else happening here so I'll wish everyone a good day. Take care and stay safe in this heat, enjoy tonight's footie if that's your thing. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Morning, hope everyone is staying cool. Went out early with Ldog to the old Hall and chapel, The gardens are beautiful right now. We stuck to the shaded paths. A quiet one this afternoon until we watch the match later, hope its not delayed!
Yesterday both DSons and I went to a funeral, one of their friends after illness, so heartbreaking to see photos of her loving life with her little girl.A lot of the mourners were people I knew when the lads were growing up. 🙏
Snoozer hope you are feeling better now.
Sounds like you got a bargain Mehefin!
Enjoy your lunch Gers and Camelot.
Time for a bit of lunch, though don't feel like much. Take care all.
