Nest Pensions are Liars

Can someone help me expose Nest???
Nest Pensions destroyed my life for 6 months while I have kidney failure and a baby on the way
My name is Natanael. I have kidney failure caused by hypertension. I have a baby on the way. Since February 2026 I have been trying to access my own pension money through Nest Pensions due to incapacity to work. What followed was six months of lies, contradictions, and humiliation that no seriously ill person should ever have to endure.
Here is what happened:
Nest's own form stated that a doctor from abroad could complete my incapacity forms. My doctor at the time was is in the Netherlands because I was living there temporarily. Bear in mind this was beggining of February. I paid to have the forms completed and sent. In June 2026 — four months later — Nest told me for the first time that the doctor needed to be UK based. Four months. Gone. Money spent. Health deteriorating.
In June 2026 Nest admitted service failure in writing. They promised to prioritise my case. They broke that promise immediately. Every deadline missed. Every timeframe contradicted. I have proof for everything I'm saying and still waiting to be paid. With kidney failure and a baby on the way I really need the money, we have been going around in circles

Sorry to hear that. :( I did have a look at the forms and you are right in that the final page does include a form for the Non UK Registered Medical Practitioner. I had a horrible feeling what if the form for the UK Registered Medical Practitioner was filled out instead. :( Or is it the case that you are living in the UK currently?

Having said that, it might be worth asking specifically: "What is your required process for confirming a terminal illness diagnosis for a member residing in the Netherlands? Confirm what is the suitable similar overseas council in the Netherlands" But if you are no longer living in the Netherlands then I am not sure that question is no longer relevant.

Have the NEST explains why they cannot accept the Non UK Registered Medical Practitioner even though the option is clearly available.

Still, I do wish you all the best in this very difficult circumstances. :(

Whatever your opinion of nest, I would suggest that you remove the derogatory comments and stick to the facts otherwise the forum team may do that for you, although they may choose to remove the whole thread.

it is also strongly recommended that you don’t use your real name on here.

Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.

What is your required process for confirming a terminal illness diagnosis for a member residing in the Netherlands?

Happily there's no suggestion in OP's post that this is a case of a terminal diagnosis; they have referred to 'incapacity to work'.

OP, I wonder if the issue is that NEST isn't happy for a doctor who was only treating you while you were a temporary resident of the Netherlands to certify that you are too ill to ever work again? That would be a much more likely explanation of what's going on, given the doctor concerned wouldn't have been treating you for long. You are clearly below the age of 55 and thus too young to access your NEST benefits unless you meet the criterion 'too ill to work now or in the future' (which, incidentally, is an HMRC requirement, not something dreamed up by NEST).

Obviously I have no idea whether your incapacity is temporary or otherwise (I very much hope it's not permanent, especially with a baby on the way), but from the wording of your question, it isn't clear that you will never be able to work again.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Ah, I misread the post then! I have checked the incapacity form from the NEST as well, and it is similar there as well. Sorry about my confusion over this!
