hello everybody. I'd really appreciate some advice, i've just made some home made chicken mayonnaise sandwich spread and i was just wondering how long i can store it in the fridge for?
i've put it into an airtight plastic container thingy but have got no idea how long it can be stored for.
thanks in advance.

Personally I would only store it overnight if the mayonnaise is homemade because of the raw eggs.
If its shop bought mayonnaise then two days with the chicken.
This is just my personal view but hope it helps.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4 .............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

thanks Rikki, i wasnt brave enough to try home made mayo, its the stuff out of a jar,
I thinks its chicken sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next 2 days as i think i've gone a little OTT in terms of the quantity i've made!0 -
Dependent on how long the chicken has been cooked for would determine how long I considered it to be safe to eat.I always go by the rule of thumb of keeping cooked poultry 3-4 days in the fridge and if its not eaten/frozen by then it goes in the bin.You cant freeze the Chicken Mayonnaise as the mayonnaise doesnt take too kindly to being defrosted and tends to separate or it does every time I try it.So I'd be trying to ring the changes with it for the next few days adding it to a different ingredient each day to consume as much as you can and then binning the remainder

Mayonnaise does usually have preservatives in it, so this will help.
If, it was freshly made today, then I would use it Monday & Tuesday, but give it the sniff test on Wednesday.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
