Morning all. Morning @Gers enjoy the sun today!
Woke up early as I couldn't stay awake past 9.30pm last night as the weather had been so hot and draining all day. Going to be another hot one today too.
Double glazing man coming today and apparently will start upstairs so some furniture to move in our bedroom and the spare room so he can get to the windows and replace them!
Nothing else going on today.
Have a good day all x

Morning, thanks Gers, there is sun here.
It was blisteringly hot yesterday, and the 2 chaps who put our new fence up worked solidly through it, and made a lovely job of it. and as soon as they'd gone we set to putting stuff back in the shed, which we'd had to move. There,'s still things to rearrange but we'll do it today. Dh tires easily since he had cancer treatment, and I didn't want him to overdo it in that heat.
Looks like it's going to be a warm one today.as well.
Hope everyone is all right, haven't seen Silver-Oldie for a while.
Thoughts to those who are sad or poorly, take care folks.

Morning all.
A brief visit from me as we're off to Pembrokeshire today for a long weekend. The temperature seems to be a little lower than the 34 degrees we are forecast here……..
I've laid out the things for my suitcase and will pack soon then we can get on the road and in a nice air conditioned car! Stopping in Swansea tonight, where I believe there's a good ice cream place.
Congrats on the new granddaughter Snoozer. Will catch up with everything else on my return.

Morning - I may have been over-excited earlier. No sun, just warmth. It appeared yesterday afternoon in sort of 'am I late for the party' way.
My productivity was better on Wednesday. Tidied, cleared and sorted stuff. Then I decided to re-hang a photograph which had fallen off the wall and a painting done by my late DM. Photo was easy - a couple of commando strips and done. The painting was more of a challenge, only because the frame was slightly split at one corner. I took it to the framing / art shop in the village for repair though the assistant thought it may need re-framing as the original looks like composite with metal. We'll see.
This morning I've off up to the big town to collect my newly glazed old glasses. NO shopping yet. I've enough from the freezer and cupboards to last until Sunday. Monday I'm in Glasgow so will indulge then.
Happy Wales @WickedLady4. I hope that all is well with the new baby @snoozer. Take care in the heat, I'll keep my raincoat in the car. 😂 Hugs to all.

Good morning
It's set to hit 34deg today, Gers, can I swap some sun for rain?
Another day of not doing much at all, prawn salad for tea.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all, hope you get a bit of sun today Gers
I tried posting later on yesterday and it disappeared into the ether!
Congrats to your family @snoozer on the birth of your new DGD.
Had a food delivery yesterday, lots of salady stuff etc. We also had to call & get some medicine for DGD and drop it off.DS2 called on his way back from work to pick a package up ( early finish) after he picked DGS up and they both had an ice lolly.
I can hear DH stirring, I want to get Ldog out early into the woods where it's cool.
Take care all

Morning all
It’s going to be another scorcher here we got up onto the 40’s again yesterday in the garden 🥵 my dd is in Crete and it’s been hotter here!
I’ve got to take mum in for a hospital appointment this morning and then my sister will collect her later, it’s an all day thing with a possible overnight stay if it runs late.
Dinner tonight is salmon fried rice, I got a four pack of salmon so we had two last night and two tonight, or I might do a cold salmon pasta salad, I’m not sure I can be doing with standing over an oven in the heat.
Once I’ve dropped mum off I will go and pick up my shopping and get home quick before the ice creams melt.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, thanks @Gers.
Day 2 of the heatwave and it's going to be scorchio! It's already hot outside but the house is nice and cool - until this afternoon when the sun will be blazing in through the windows. I have nothing urgent to do today so will concentrate on getting the daily stuff done this morning and then take it easy in the afternoon with something less taxing such as sewing, reading, snoozing etc. 😉 Yesterday's 'extra' was hanging the four framed cross stitch pictures I've been working on. Once I'd worked out how to use it, I had fun with DH's laser level gadget and yes, they're straight! 😄
One of the neighbourhood squirrels came to a sticky end the other day (a victim of roadkill) but it disappeared overnight. I doubt anyone removed it, more likely a meal for the local fox or red kite. On a more cheerful note, my hanging baskets are attracting bees, hover flies and even butterflies. They've had one watering this morning and they'll most likely need another later this evening.
DS's travel schedule today started at 5 am from West Yorkshire to Hertfordshire (drive), Oxfordshire via London (train/Underground/train) and back to West Yorkshire (drive). The dispatcher did say it would be a tricky one. 🙄 Even if all goes to plan it's going to be a long day for him.
Stay as cool and hydrated as you can in this heat, take care and be safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning everyone
It was lovely here yesterday , there was a lot of parents, grannies etc at the fun afternoon at school. Both children came back home with me for a couple of hours, little one is so excited to go to Butlins next week.
I was down at the care home yesterday, neither mam or dad had much to say, I'll try again this morning as I have an appointment tomorrow morning. Then I'll go down to work, it will be quiet today as it is 'move up day' - our 3 biggest children will be in school for the day so we will just have a couple of younger children. Little one is excited to spend her day being in year 3 with her new teacher.
Right, I have a couple of jobs to do before I go out, so I hope everyone has a good day. It's forecast to be hot here again today, but Berwick heat is perhaps 25 degrees, not the high 30s a lot of you are having!
