You can convert Avios points into Nectar points and vice versa.

For example, 400 Avios will give 400 Nectar points.

Is it more beneficial to convert Nectar to Avios or is it much of a muchness?

It all depends on what else you might do with them.

So, depending on how you redeem them, an Avios point could be worth 2p rather than the 0.5p you'd get for it as a Nectar point that you spend at a Sainsbury's checkout. But if you're not likely to fly with BA, converting them to Nectar is a way to get something out of them.
