Morning again, it's going to be a fine day I think.
I'm up early after a bad night, not unusual for me.
We're having some work done outside today, a new fence. The old one was dropping to bits and looked terrible, I'll be glad to get this done. We've had to move things around in the backyard so the chaps can get to the area, and it'll all have to go back when the fence is completed. It's worth it though.
That's the main event today, hope everyone is ok, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope all goes well with the fence today.
Congrats Snoozer, hope all's well.
Shhh, it's not raining! It should be a decent day today so I'm taking the little one to Dumbarton Castle, she's been wanting to go for ages. Not looking forward to the big climb but there should be good views from the top. I'll have the little one for a sleepover, DD can pick her up tomorrow afternoon.
I did lots in the garden yesterday, cutting back and tidying up (also caught a rodent that I had seen the other day). Lots to take to the tip. Washing nearly dried outside between showers.
Hope everyone is well and you have a good day. Take care. XX

Another sticky night and another hot day here. Have just watered the garden before the sun gets on it.
Not alot planned today except trying to stay cool and moving a few things out of the way as we have the double glazing people starting tomorrow. We were told it would take 2 days so that's good.
Have a good day all x

I won't bring the thread down by mentioning rain! Thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. @snoozer - I hope that mum and new baby girl are doing well and the whole family are enjoying her too.
Today I have to wait in for the postie as she'll be bringing a label and taking away a return. I did contemplate doing a quick zoom up to the big town for shopping but have now discarded the notion. There's enough in the freezer. Yesterday I retrieved a Tom Kerridge concoction and Christmas vegetables which were both really tasty, more for today.
As it all was cooking I ventured out into the rainy garden to tie up the beautiful Mary Berry rose bush which was being battered by the rain and wind. The smell from the flowers is so fabulous.
I hope that everyone has a good day, rain or sun. Hugs to poorlies and new babies! xx

Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for today's start. Happy new fence day. 😃
The heat has arrived! The temperature is currently around 20 deg and due to rise to 28/29 deg this afternoon, blue cloudless skies, no wind to speak of and high pollen levels. Apologies to those stuck with the gloomy stuff.
Yesterday's 'extra' job was binning a few odds and ends that another resident had left in the communal hallway about a month ago for anyone who wanted them. There hadn't been any takers and I was fed up of seeing them every time I opened my front door so off they've gone. All apart from two bin bags full of building rubble that is - too heavy for me - I hope the DIY-er's conscience spurs them into action. 🤨 I didn't get through on the phone to the GP surgery so that's still on today's list.
Our bin men came early this morning, probably to avoid the worst of the heat, and I'm thinking of doing the same for any outside jobs. I have a small wash load to put out soon, one of the hanging baskets could do with a light trim where it's looking a bit straggly in parts, a bit more weeding and a walk out for my weekly top-up shop, then I'll spend the afternoon indoors where it's cooler. There's always small pottering jobs waiting in the wings! 😁 Slight change to menu plan for tonight - turkey burgers, wedges and side salad - and, if all goes to plan, DS should be home earlier than usual so we can eat at the same time.
That's about my day, nothing exciting, but rather that than disasters! 😉 Stay safe in the heat if you have it (I know not everyone enjoys it) and take care. I hope our MIA are OK. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hi everyone,
We're back home. Crystal and the little one are home but we won't be seeing them till Friday. Her mother is going over today but sensibly they are trying to limit visitors, Crystal is still very sore, understandably. Luckily Chris is very capable and also happy to do anything that's needed, you hear so many stories about new mothers coming home and having to cater for their partners as well as the children.
I'm going out for my regular meet up with friends. We met when our children were babies and now we're grandparents, although thanks to my two being such late starters I'm the only one with small grandchildren.
Apart from that I'll be trying to keep cool and maybe watching some tennis and Tour de France.
Have a good day.

Morning folks and thanks Scarlet for starting us off
Finally that pesky wind has gone. The sky is blue and the sun is shining. I had al fresco breakfast on the decking at 7.30 and it was already hot. I've just sliced a lovely Galia melon and will enjoy that throughout the day. It will be a day of in and out reading and not a lot else
Have a lovely day if you can and be safe in the sun if you have it x

Morning everyone
It's to be a nice day here and then is forecast to be dry and warm for the next week, I hope it's right.
The MRI scan was fine - just my legs were in the scanner, so I was relieved. My appointment was almost an hour later, so I had less time browsing in the shops than I planned. I only bought socks and knickers in Primark and some hair bits for little one, and then a nice blouse in TK Maxx.
Today I'll go down to the care home this morning, then for my shopping. This afternoon I'm going down to school for a fun afternoon with little one, DD asked me to go as little foster baby has a physio appointment…there's to be games on the field so it should be fun.
Going to quickly do my ironing before I go out. Hope everyone has a good day x
