GWR (non)refund system
I bought tickets (overnight sleeper) from GWR for £379, immediately realised I had bought the wrong date and needed tickets for the next day, that's when it all went wrong. Tried online but not possible to get change of ticket so contacted GWR who told me to buy new tickets ( another £379) and then get a refund. That was a few weeks ago and so far no refund, no way to quiry why no refund, gwr have a special site just for refunds which is excessively complex and slow without any was to contact them again.
I have also complained via the main gwr site but no reply from them at all, it seems that refunds are a myth.
I normally use train line who issue refunds immediately so am quite shocked.

What steps did you take to request the refund after you purchased the new tickets?
Have you tried the online live chat on the GWR website? If not, that might be a good start to get you to the right area.
