Morning, thanks Gers.
It's fine here, hope it lasts.
Hope you enjoyed your afternoon yes yesterday Camelot.
We are emptying the shed today, preparing for a new back fence to be put up tomorrow. The guy said they would do it in a day, so hopefully we can n start getting the stuff back in more or less straightaway. The fence has been looking a bit ramshackle for a while, I'll be pleased when it's done and looking tidy. The shed is near the fence so will have to be moved so they can work.
No other news really, my son is hobbling about, I wish he wouldn't do these extreme races. His feet are sore, but no wonder.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good day, take care folks.

Morning all
Looks to be a nice day again I have washing in the machine which can go on the line.
I had to take dd’s dog to the vet yesterday she had been hobbling around all weekend and yesterday was struggling to walk 100 yards, dd is still away so asked if I would take her, upshot is that she is on three lots of painkillers three times a day and total rest for a week poor baby is feeling really sorry for herself.
I’m off to butlins today with my people and our friends swimming this morning and then a pub lunch and fairground this afternoon, last time we went everyone loved it so it should be a good day.
Not sure about dinner will go and have a look after this.
Have good days all and take care xx13 -

Good morning
A cloudy start, temperatures forecast to go up to 25 degrees, and if the forecast on tv last night is correct it's going to get windy.
Usual chores to do, more laundry but at least it should dry. Sausages, mash and veg tonight. Last night I cooked the pork chops in the pressure cooker, only took 10 minutes and were lovely and tender.
@RedRuby1231 Enjoy Butlins, my daughter loves it there with the children, and tries to go every year if she can get a discount, very MSE.
Have a good day all, take care.

We certainly are having a lot of rain here. Still going, I can't see the sea or even the hills across it, so much low cloud and mist. Feels like autumn again, we've skipped summer though promised better for tomorrow.
My trip to the library yesterday was very fruitful. New card as mine was tattered. Then the librarian told me that the membership includes free access to BorrowBox and Pressreader. Perhaps I'm talking to the converted but…what a revelation these sites are. BB is digital books and audiobooks, should save me a lot of money as I spend a bit at Audible. And Pressreader has access to hundreds of newspapers and magazines. Even my local weekly paper which consists of adverts for tractors and events from years ago is on there - that makes me the happiest as £1.60 for six pages has always bothered me! Oh, and Radio Times too.
After that I spent some time working through both apps and deciding which books and papers I wanted to read.
This morning my cleaner is coming, a day early as he has a hospital appointment tomorrow, so I've tidied the usual hotspot. I'll go out for a bit of breakfast whilst he's here. A parcel is due for delivery too.
@ScarletRibbons - no wonder your DS is hobbling! @RedRuby1231 - what a day for your clients. Butlins sounds brilliant - I've never been though my late brother was taken to Skegness when he was about 10 years old.
Take care all. Hugs all round.

Morning all from a dull, cool Mehefinland.
@Gers Welcome to the world of on-line library users lol. My lot has free access to Borowbox et al,plus Libby ( I'd never heard of it!) and also to a Ukranian site!
Gwen has more or less permanently moved in-the house looks like a bomb has hit it as we sort what goes where. Some of my furniture is going to have to go as we compromise over what suits etc. My piano will be going as hers is a superior instrument. Other stuff will join the clear out too in due course.
Busy day today with Governers meeting followed by Council this evening. I will be good for nothing tomorrow as I always find these two meetings exhausting and both in the same day is a pain.
Gosh -happy memories of Butlins… we used to go to Pwllheli as a kid - a substantial trek from S Wales in those days. Also vaguely remember going to Minehead for Xmas one year - Its 18 miles as the crow flies but about 3 hours to get there because the Bristol Channel is in the way! You can actually see the place on a clear day, which is quite bizarre!
Hugs and spoons as always - lots to do…
Mehefin aka Derek

Motning everyone
Just a quickie to say congratulations Snoozerx
Camelot little ones' favourite place is Butlins, they're off to the one at Skegness next Friday. I used to take my girls there too.
Right, I'm going to one of the hospitals beside Newcastle today to have a MRI on my knee…not looking forward to it, I've had one and found it very claustrophobic. It will be followed by Primark and TK Maxx.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for the start off @Gers.
Today it looks as if the weather will be a repeat of yesterday - supposedly sunny intervals but there was more cloud than expected. Still, there was no rain and it was mild, so not all bad. Tomorrow there should be more sun along with the arrival of the next hot spell.
I did a bit of weeding yesterday, not as much as I would have liked, but anything helps and I might be able to squeeze in a bit more today. And I managed to unblock the toilet bowl without too much hassle but I'll keep an eye on it, just in case it needs something more drastic doing to it.
Today my main job is to ring the surgery to make an appointment for an annual diabetes review/blood tests, then it will be back to the usual daily tasks. I'm making moussaka for tonight's dinner; I'll have mine at the usual time and DS can microwave his when he gets home. He's enjoying his new job and all seems to be going well so far. As in any job, there is a downside which in this case is the long hours that can be up to 14 hours a day and the early starts - this morning was 4 am. 😮
@Scarlet - Fingers crossed your new fence is up by the end of the day and that you'll have an organised shed at the end of it all.
@Ruby - I hope you all have a lovely day out at Butlins. I have fond memories of going to the one at Filey when I was about 12 (many, many years ago 😁 ).
@mehefin - Busy as ever I see. Gwen - moved in? Did I miss something?
@dp1 - While you're having the MRI think about the joys of shopping afterwards! 😉 Hope all goes well.
Right, must get a wriggle on so I'll wish everyone a good day. As ever, thoughts with anyone struggling in general. Take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all
Successful trip for new sandals yesterday. Little things eh :-)
Been in the garden this morning. Tried to pull up a weed next to the poppies that appeared this year and ended up pulling them up instead grrrrr. I've replanted them and watered them with some plant food included. Fingers crossed it survives
Nothing else planned today except some tennis later. I hope Butlins isn't too hot @RedRuby1231 and you all enjoy your day
Have a good day all x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, well done on joining the digital library.
It's not raining! It's not sunny either but fairly mild. I've been for a swim so will do a white wash with the towels. If the sun appears I'll put the bedding out from yesterday to finish off drying.
We had a nice afternoon tea, the G&T was lovely and an added bonus was the bartenders were experimenting with cocktails and we were the guinea pigs - lovely and very MSE! We walked into town from the hotel and had a mooch about before getting the train home. Friend has some issues with her DS so she offloaded whilst we were out, think it did her good.
I'm going to do some weeding in the garden and will walk down to the library later and pop in to see the little one at her swimming lesson.
Lots to do there Mehefin, hope the meetings go well.
Enjoy Butlins Ruby, we had a very happy week there when the children were small.
Happy new fence Scarlet. Hope your DS has some comfy slippers to wear!
Good luck with the MRI dp1.
Have a good day, take care. XX
