It is better to be an LPA then have a joint account, aside from the fact that the person may not wish to share bank account with anyone.
If the joint account holder loses capacity and the bank become aware of that, they can freeze it because the person can no longer monitor.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
