Morning all - and thanks to @ScarletRibbons for starting us off.
Yesterday was a day of mixed fortunes. Early bus down the road was fine, arrived at 10.30a.m. Not long after I was in JL, went up to technical support but no-one there so down to the collection area where I baffled two men. One went off back up to technical support to scout around, then he came back with a huge box - bear in mind that my dodgy toaster is a two-slice one. That huge box had another box inside it - a brand new Dualit! What a lovely surprise. I can only assume that the company either couldn't fix my toaster or decided that good customer service was in order. Either way, well done to Dualit.
I had taken my late DM' much loved Ikea nylon backpack which I've always been dismissive of. Toaster unboxed, wrapped in bubble stuff and it fitted nicely. I was back at the bus station in under an hour. The drive home proved more of a problem as in the meanwhile there had been a very nasty accident at Arrochar and there were two enormous loads under police escort heading up towards the Islay ferry. Long story short…it took about 40 minutes longer than usual to get home, however those heading to Islay will have missed the 3.30 sailing.
This morning I have to go to the wee town to collect my new prescription sunglasses. Whilst I'm away the grass mower bloke is coming so I'll find a lovely neat lawn.
Take care all - it's fairly nippy here though the wild wind has died down. xx

Morning again, it's not a bad one here, cool and grey.
Glad you had a successful trip yesterday Gers.
Belated birthday wishes YL, and good luck to your son in his new job.
Hope you enjoyed the show last night TA.
We love Northumberland too Camelot, it was always a favourite place when we had the caravan.
187 steps Coxy, now be careful!
Just the usual day ahead today, hope everyone is ok and has a good day, take care folks .

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for kicking off. A cloudy start here but there are intermittent bursts of sunshine which gives me hope! Thankfully that horrendous wind of yesterday has moved on. By evening it felt quite chilly in it.
Middle DGDs show went well to a packed audience but why does music have to be so loud these days! It was mostly contemporary dance too which is not my choice really. But I kept my thoughts to myself until DD said much the same afterwards. So not just aged person thoughts! But we enjoyed it nonetheless!
The usual jobs await this morning, will they they never end! My first job will be to strip the bed and get the bedding washed. And yet again the phantom freezer messer upper has been up to its tricks so that needs a good tidy out at some point.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, stay safe x

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet . Gers well done Dualit nice shiny new toaster . TA some of my grandchildren’s shows have nearly had our ears bursting one is a gymnast and the floor shakes when you go to see them and it’s not just them bouncing about. Well it’s mild and lads windy today yesterday we were nearly blown away I’m off out in a minute it’s my volunteering day at least it’s not as hot as last week we were all about ready to drop unloading that van on the morning. I’ve got some chicken out of the freezer it hasn’t made much of a gap it’s not any tidier either. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone
The wind has dropped here, it spoilt a sunny day yesterday, today is to be fine too.
I had a lovely day with little foster baby on Wednesday and it was very easy 'carrying' my shopping as I fit 2 big bags full on the shopping basket of the pushchair. Mam was happy to see him too.
Little one was here after school last night as DD had a meeting, she'll be back again today and requested sweet and sour chicken courtesy of M and S for tea…I got 2 reduced ones when I shopped on Wednesday. So that's nice and easy. We have tickets for the cinema tomorrow to see Toy Story 5 and will go to the library so she can sign up for the Summer reading Challenge.
Belated Happy Birthday Yorkshire Lass x
Must make my lunch and get dressed, then I'll go down to the care home for an hour or so before work. I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for today's start @Scarlet.
The sun is shining somewhat hazily this morning and it's supposed to get cloudy but warmer as the day goes on. Thankfully, yesterday's wind seems to have died down to a gentle breeze - I wasn't too impressed at seeing my hanging baskets swinging from side to side and spinning around, first in one direction and then the other! 😯 They've survived but were in desperate need of watering. I was also keeping watch on my towels that were drying outside just in case they decided to detach themselves from the line.
Our local fox was out and about early yesterday evening and walked past my kitchen window less than 3 yards away; he/she looked pretty healthy and totally unconcerned by my presence. After I went to bed an owl was hooting away somewhere nearby but I find that quite comforting rather than annoying. Even though I live on a medium-sized housing estate, I shouldn't be surprised at how much wildlife there is around since there are lots of green spaces and pockets of woodland as well as houses.
Usual Friday admin to do today and the freezer needs a tidy-up (again) before I plan next week's meals. It doesn't seem two minutes since I last did it and it won't be too long either before I'm back to buying one or two extra food items each week in readiness for you-know-when in December. It being Friday, tonight's meal will be a fake-away chippy tea so nice and easy.
@Gers - Whatever the reason for it, enjoy your new replacement toaster! 👍️
@TA - Glad last night's show was enjoyable in spite of the loud music. I sometimes wonder if today's younger generation are going to need hearing aids as they age. 🤔 Our parents probably thought the same about us.
I hope our absentees are OK and wish them and everyone else a good day. Take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all
Out early food shopping. Was quite busy considering the early hour. Wind has calmed down here too thank goodness.
DS coming round later to collect our old tv and some logs as he had to cancel on Wednesday. Must remember to give him his triangular chocolate that is an obligatory buy when going through airport shops! Also must remember to ask DH to do my car tyres as a warning came up that the needed pumping up!
Nothing else planned today so have a good day to you all and take care x

YL your comment has taken me back 60 odd years and yes we must have had our music just as loud!. I remember whilst I was in the bathroom, with the window wide open, getting ready to hit the town and my DM hammering on the door and telling me to turn the music down as it sounded like a fairground outside. Those were the days!

Hi everyone,
Belated good wishes for yesterday YL.
Still no baby! It looks like it will be the C section on Monday, I know Crystal wanted to avoid it because it's so incapacitating.
I'm a bit up and down at the moment but am trying to do a bit of cleaning every day. Yesterday it was the front door and window pvc, they get terribly grubby. Today I have a lemon steaming in the microwave/airfryer so I shall go and wipe it down as soon as I finish this. I've also got a gammon joint in the pressure cooker, I usually do it on the hob but someone (was it Scarlet) mentioned cooking one in the pressure cooker the other day so I thought I'd give it a go.
Have a good day.
