Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's a bright start here, though I posted similar yesterday and we went on to have.a thunderstorm!
Not a lot going on here, there's a bit of shopping to do today, and the usual housework.
Hope everyone has a good day take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Bah, another hot, sticky and sleepless night. Hopes of the temperature dropping after yesterday mornings brief storm didn't happen. It was hotter than ever. Apparently today will be the last hot day before we are back to normal tomorrow.
It will come hard resuming housework after my days have been spent mostly sitting, feet up and reading with the trusty fan blowing and trying to keep cool. I could get used to a life of sloth!
This morning it's Sainsbury's day with DS but I doubt I will get everything on my list as rumours abound that the freezers are all but bare! Something to do with them not running to capacity in the heat, as well as them running out of ice cream. I have finished my supply of Cornetto (sm copies) and now down to just a few Twisters left. I'm sure I'll survive if I can't replace them just yet.
Have a good day folks if you can, take care and be safe x

Morning all
Managed to sleep in until after 6am this morning, maybe because I was woken in the night because of a thunderstorm that went on for a while! Not surprised with the terrible heat we had all day. No watering the garden again today then
I'm making a chocolate sponge later and will fill with whipped cream to celebrate the temperature going down next week
Nothing else planned today but hope to get a nap in this afternoon so I can stay awake to watch England tonight.
Have a good day all x

Good morning
We didn't get any thunderstorms yesterday, but it was so hot. I think it was the worse day, we were all really suffering despite having the chiller going full blast, although funnily enough I got a good night's sleep. As you say TA it's due to be the last hot day before temperatures drop tomorrow.
Nothing planned for today, DH is expecting a delivery, something technical to do with the TV, don't ask me.
Last night we had some cooked lamb left over from Easter that I found in the freezer, with salad. I don't think either of us had much of an appetite. Tonight will be burgers in cheese topped rolls, I'm going to try the plant based bean burgers. OH will have his usual beef burgers, he's not very adventurous with food. It will be the first time this week that I'll be eating bread, so it'll be interesting to see how it affects me.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning again. The weather is noticeably cooler this morning. After a bright start on Friday the sky darkened considerably at 1p.m.'ish and then the rain started. Rumbles of thunder moved across the sky though no lightning came.
The optician's appointment was good. The new owners are 'bright young things' and so refreshing after the stuffiness of the previous one, who was competent though very quiet. Anyway, the outcome is that the cataract in my left eye is not ready for surgery and I'm still driving legally! She reassured me that the intermittent fogginess is down to blepharitis so I'm back to heating, massaging and cleaning with a carrier oil and tea tree oil. I've also got drops for dry eyes. My not expensive appointment turned when I decided to buy proper prescription lens sunglasses for driving, I found the low winter sun much more difficult this year.😯 They'll be ready in two weeks.
Shopping done I headed home via a visit to friends on the way. We sat out overlooking the still mirror-like loch for a wee while. Later in the afternoon a wee thrush decided to clatter down my chimney into the woodburner. I texted the stocksman, he came round, clambered on my sofa to open the top half of the sash window (I've never moved it in 13 years!) then released the bird - turns out that there were two of them. Seems to be fledgings, they zoomed up and out the window in a flash.
That's enough excitment for one week. Enjoy your cake @Chrisca50, it sounds so lovely. @TravellingAbuela - I hope that you find the temperature better today.
Hugs to our poorlies and families - miss our missing! xx

morning everyone it’s another hot one the last one I think it’s supposed to cool down tomorrow we had two storms yesterday one in the morning and one early evening lots of lightning and very loud thunder didn’t seem to clear the air much . I’m going to get my nails done this afternoon I’ve just hung some washing out but I won’t be doing much else . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all
Yesterday was a bit cooler it only got up to 34 which was so much better than in the 40’s, having said that it’s already 28 this morning and set to get hotter 🥵
I have done so much washing over the last week I’m running out of things to wash, I do have a small load in now, and I think I will do the lounge curtains after, got to make the most of the good drying weather.
OH will take the dogs to the woods later where there is a pond for them to dip in which will cool them off, other than that it will just be a pottering kind of day with maybe a bit of gardening if the heat is not too intense.
Camelot I hope you are ok I’ve been thinking of you xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone, thanks Gers. Bit cooler today thank goodness 21 deg atm and a breeze, and grey clouds. We did have a few thunder cracks which scared the life out of Ldog 😶I was hoping we could have an early walk but Dh is still upstairs after a lie in.I have been fooling him into thinking he's been out by putting his lead on and going in next doors front garden to water the plants but the other neighbours are back now so no need to water.
No idea what's for tea yet, last night we just had bits. Had a good chat with DB2 yesterday, he says he may call this next week. Telling me about DN and her BF holiday to Greece, where they have both had very shall we say iffy stomachs. She's dreading the flight home today, bless her.
We'll be watching the England game later but no other plans. Have a good day all.

Afternoon all, thanks @Gers.
Yesterday's predicted thunderstorms didn't happen but how I wish they had! It was unbearably hot all day although today is slightly better - still hot, but not quite in the 30 degrees, and there's a lovely breeze. Tomorrow promises to be more 'normal' with sunny intervals.
Today I've been 'assisting' DS who decided it was finally time to have a sort out of his belongings that came with him when he returned home. I have to say he's done a good job - unlike me, he's very quick and decisive when it comes to letting go of things! Some stuff binned, some bagged up for the clothing bank and/or CS and the rest tidied, organised and put away. He also posted some items for sale on the Bay of E and within a couple of hours one had sold. That's already been parcelled up and is on its way to the buyer. He came back from the shop with an ice lolly for each of us - I can't remember the last time I had one, but it was most welcome. I'm surprised they had any at all.
We've had picky bits to eat for breakfast and lunch, tonight will be in the same vein - pizza with extra cheese and a pepperoni topping, pasta salad (already prepared), sliced cucumber and tomatoes (no lettuce, it's all been eaten). There are some choc ices and ice cream cones in the freezer for afters. If DS wants to watch the England match tonight that's fine with me; I've no less than 17 paperbacks waiting to be read! 😁
I hope everyone's having a lovely weekend and coping with the heat. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
