Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another warm day is forecast but for us there is the chance of showers later this afternoon. So that may happen or it may not.
It's shopping morning with DS and I have quite a long list, though a lot of it is household stuff which all needs replenishing at the same time. I'm still trying to avoid anything for the freezer unless it's bargains too good to miss. I was doing really well at getting stocks down until I fell into panic mode when gaps started to appear. Though I still haven't put the smaller freezer back on so that's an achievement in itself.
Other than shopping the day is then mine. Probably just a bit of pottering and maybe a bit of sitting outside reading. DD is currently on the Isle of Wight for the music festival. A group of "girls" go down every year and relive their lost youth. They are very lucky with the weather this year. Her DP is left at home to ferry the girls around for school, their various dance lessons and their weekend/holiday job at the tea room. He'll be glad to see her back on Wednesday I think!
Have a good day folks with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care, be safe x

Good morning, and Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there.
It's a bright sunny start, temperatures set to rise. We are forecast 34 degrees this week, phew.
We now have the parts needed to finish the sink saga, although whether they'll be fitted today is another matter. Mrs ND came and had a look yesterday and said how lucky I am to have such a talented husband (!)
No idea what's for tea, plenty in, DH keeps hinting about a roast, really!
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Stay away from the freezer section TA!
It's a glorious day but not due to have the high temperatures some of you are getting thank goodness. All the throws and cushion covers from the living room have been washed (well, waiting for the last load to finish), they should all dry well today. I put the clean bedding back on the bed yesterday straight from the line.
Shopping this morning and to allotment 2, I walked down yesterday to put in some beetroot, there's spinach to go in today then everything is planted up, thankfully this sunshine should help to bring it all on, it's all a bit slow this year.
A friend and I sat yesterday to look at my options regarding work, I know what I'm going to do once I know the outcome of the meetings this week.
Off to afternoon tea with a pal later, using a voucher i've been given. Not my favourite meal but I'll go if it's paid for!
Hope you all have a peaceful and relaxing day, stay cool and take care. XX

Good morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
We have been busy with DDad - I took him to see his sister in her care home on Friday. Long drive in the heat. We also paid a visit to my grandparents grave plus my godmother’s plot, and DDads childhood home (drive by). Yesterday we saw I’m Sorry Prime Minister at our local theatre. DDad is coming with us to my ILs today. Have already specified several conversation topics that are off limits !
It’s DS1/DDil 2nd WA today. They are away in Wales with her Dad but we will catch up with them later in the week.
Sorry to hear you have work issues @camelot1001 I hope the meetings this week give some clarity xHave a good day everyone

Good morning all - how lovely it was to be in my own bed last night. 😀 The accommodation for the summer course was in a youth hostel which means single bed and small room. After my 10 days in a beautiful hotel in Toronto it was a complete change.
The week was good even though I was / am still suffering the hacking cough, seems it may go on for a while yet. Morning events in Perth were a short, usually fascinating, talk followed by a visit to site which illustrates the topic. Tuesday was Stirling Castle (much better than Edinburgh Castle), Wednesday was Inchcolm Abbey, Thursday the visit was to the Highland Folk Museum though I didn't go and finally Friday was the Verdant Works which is a restored jute mill in Dundee. On Friday there was a social evening. I broke out my emergency bottle of wine from the boot of the car, it didn't go far between seven people but the wee sip was appreciated by all.
Yesterday I travelled home via Trossachs Pier where I took a very pleasant two hour cruise around Loch Katrine onboard the steamship Sir Walter Scott. It was so undemanding of me, the sun was shining though the wind was nippy. A slow meander home finished off the week well.
I've got my washing machine chugging away as the day is forecast to be warm despite some intermittent showers, fingers crossed for not too many. I've got so much to catch up on, not least this board, I'm hoping that nothing too bad has happened.
Take care all, hugs all round.xx

It’s already warm and set to be a scorcher today up to around 25deg ☀️ I sorted out my little gardening shed yesterday we got it to store the logs in and my gardening bits but OH keeps putting stuff in there from the big shed which is at least twice the size, it got to a point where I couldn’t even get in the door, he has been warned not to put anything else in there 🙄
Dinner tonight will be a bbq but we are having a leg of lamb it’s been in mums freezer for months so we thought we had better cook it, I shall start it off in the oven and crisp it on the bbq, I shall do some roasted garlic new potatoes and corn on the cob, I will run mum up a dinner, we took her one yesterday too she is just not cooking at all now and just eats rubbish if I don’t cook for her.
I’ve got quite a few gherkins growing now, I need to check the plants today and see if there are enough big ones to do a first batch, I’ve got all the vinegar and everything ready just need them to grow a bit more now!
Dogs will be walked in the woods again as it’s so much cooler there.
Camelot it’s good you have a plan, I hope it works out in the way you want xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all. Sunny outside and it's going to be a hot day.
Quiet morning here then a late lunch of cooked chicken and salad stuff prior to me having to set off to play at a Summer Solstice event about 90 mins away. We have 2 x 45minute sets early evening and I think it's in a field so no shade! Will take water with me but I gather there's a nearby cafe plus there might well be food trucks.
DD mentioned yesterday that her childminder is away next week so we offered to have 2yr old DGS a couple of days. He's lovely but very noisy at the moment.
Good to hear about everyone's activities. We visited Stirling Castle in the snow many years ago GERS. Fingers crossed for a good outcome from work CAMELOT.
Stay cool everyone.

Hi everyone,
It's not as hot here as we were warned, so far anyway. I must say the air conditioning unit we had fitted in the living room has been brilliant. Previously the room became unbearable when it was hot, now it's a bit of a sanctuary, Steve even slept on the settee one night.
I've been pottering along, recovering from spending time with the children, I love them to bits but it does take it out of you. We're just on a waiting game now for the new baby to arrive, I've got everything crossed that Crystal doesn't go into the PND spiral she went into after Nate was born. She is being given a lot more support than last time (she asked for help and didn't get any pre-natal and the post-natal wasn't much better. Chris will have about 10 weeks off as Lidl have increased their paternity leave to 8 weeks so hopefully that will help too.
Coxy, I don't know if I'm being thick but what is ILS.
Camelot, here's hoping you get the outcome you want.
Gers, that sounds lovely, we really liked Stirling when we went there although it must be over thirty years ago now.
Have a good day.

Afternoon all, thanks @Scarlet for the start.
It's another lovely sunny day with just the gentlest of breezes, maybe a bit of rain later in the day. I've spent the morning doing what needs to be done and am not intending to do anything else for the rest of the day, barring eating dinner. There's a chicken & mushroom casserole cooking in the SC to have with baby potatoes and carrots and a choc ice for afters. My south facing kitchen gets really hot during this weather so the SC is a god-send, not to mention cheaper than using the oven.
I'm expecting a grocery delivery tomorrow and, despite re-jigging the list several times, I couldn't get the end cost much lower. 😕 However, if I can manage for the rest of the month without buying anything else (apart from milk and F&V), it won't break the budget. I've had to order a sink plunger (how glamorous is that 🙄) because the one I have is neither use nor ornament now the rubber suction cup has perished. DS is back on nights tonight and has a fasting blood test in the morning. At his last cardiology check up they mentioned statins may be needed so I suspect this is what it's for. We'll see.
@Gers - Welcome back, your week away sounds really interesting but yes, it's good to be back in your own bed.
Nothing else happening so I hope everyone is having a good weekend and spending time with their Dads or (like me) indulging in fond memories if they're no longer around. Stay safe in the sun and take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6
