Morning again, it's an early start for me after a bad night. I'm just looking out of the window, there's sudden brilliant sunshine then that just disappears to be followed by cloud. Strange.
Remmie, sorry to read that the sink installation has hit a few snags. How often I've heard Dh say some job or other will only take half an hour only to hear him swearing and muttering 2 hours later The words ' it's only a small job' are fatal.
Good to catch up with you Snoozer.
Glad to see you've got some partial relief from your flapping ear Ruby.
Hope work will be ok for you Camelot, you don't want any nasty surprises.
No plans for today. We might nip into Durham on the bus, it's only a 20 -25 minute ride. That's if I can stay awake anyway.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you enjoy your bus trip. I've never been to Durham (only passing through on the train), must remedy that soon.
It rained all day yesterday, only slowed down so it could rain harder! There was a glimmer of sunshine around 7.30 last night but it looks like it has been raining again overnight. There is sunshine at the moment so will put the bedding in and cross my fingers.
That ear problem sounds horrid Ruby, hope you get some relief from it with the medication.
Glad you got the sink in Remmie.
Did you have a good week Gers?
It was the leaver's assembly yesterday which was lovely. There's always a camera roll with the children as babies, their first day of primary and as they are now - not a dry eye in the house. There are some tricky children in that year so will be glad to see the back of them but shame the good ones have to leave us.
I may go for a swim this morning followed by the allotments to see what needs attention after the dreadful rain we've had.
Glad you had a good holiday Coxy.
I would like to do Jury duty Izzy.
Sounds like you had a good time Snoozer.
Right, must get moving. Have a good day and take care. XX

Good morning
It's raining, but should clear up for a dry but cooler day before the heatwave next week.
And..... the sink is fitted, the tap connected up, but now there's a problem with the waste that requires a new part. Did I not say leave the old sink and just get a new tap? What do I know. Anyway it looks very nice.
Last night we had southern fried chicken steaks with salad, tonight will be fish and chips from the freezer. As we have to go out for the waste fitting I will pop into Aldee, I've decided to try some of their plant based food. Has anyone tried them and have recommendations? As meat is so expensive I'll give them a go. Needless to say himself won't eat them.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Enjoy your little trip out. I've only been to Durham once, many years ago when the kids were young, so don't remember much about it. We were staying with Bob's cousin who lived in the area, and she introduced us to a few new to us places.
A glorious start hereabouts and forecast to stay with us all next week. Yesterday we were forecast light showers all evening and they lasted for about 2 minutes! Fortunately I had ignored the forecast and watered all the pots anyway!
I stripped the bed earlier and the bedding is on its last lap in the wm but the worst job is still to do - putting the fresh bedding on. I'll do it in fits and starts as usual.
Have a lovely day if you can folks, take care and be safe. REMMIE your ongoing saga of the sink has cast my mind back to "There's a hole in my bucket dear Liza dear Liza" for you old enough to remember it! x

Morning all. Dry and cooler here so far.
Caught up with housework bits yesterday and then took DH for his cataract op just after 1pm. He was booked in for 1.30pm so I came home and watched the Test Match, expecting to be called back about 3pm but it was almost 5pm when they rang me; I was beginning to worry! Anyway, all is well this morning and we've now started the eye drop regime.
Off to DD's this afternoon for an early Father's Day meet up. She's doing a cream tea so I picked up a couple of tubs of clotted cream on special offer yesterday. My O/S thing for the day………..
@remmie I'm not keen on some of the plant based things I've tried, but they weren't specifically Aldee. I have, however, converted DH to chick peas, which are especially nice in a curry, plus I add tinned or packet lentils to some things. Last night's dinner was Mary Berry's cauliflower soup, with added wholemeal roll for DH, so that was meatless and we found it quite filling.
Happy Saturday everyone.

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet enjoy your trip to Durham it’s lovely sunshine today and I think there might be some brass bands playing there today that should keep you awake. Camelot I’ve done jury service before 41 years ago when I was 7 months pregnant with my oldest son it was very interesting I don’t think this one will be we have been told it’s to do with a death and it’s at the coroners . I’m going to pop to the post office in a minute just waiting for the washer to finish I have the old mobile phones to post back apparently we are getting money for trading them in I’ve lost the will to live with them still haven’t got my head round them but I can answer it and use my Lidl app I think that’s all I need to know although it quite often locks me out as it doesn’t recognise my fingerprint I’m afraid technology and me don’t get on . I’m getting my hair cut later this morning I’m like a yeti it’s so long since it’s been cut . I’ve got the house to myself hubby is off playing golf little dog has been walked she will go out again later when it cools down . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all
It’s a bit cloudy this morning but no chance of rain and the sun is due out this evening, we will bbq for dinner I have an assortment of odd bits of meat to cook so it will be good to use them up, I have some corn on the cob too and may do some rice or new potatoes.
DD and I went back to Lidl yesterday and got the last three pots, two for DD’s new house - my house is starting to look like a warehouse with all the stuff stored but it’s not for long. Hopefully she will exchange at the end of July.
We are doing to take the dogs to the woods later as it’s a bit cooler there, they can also have a dunk in the pond to cool off.
OH has his washing in the wm which can be hung out and we need to have a quick clean round and do the bathroom.
Ear is still troubling me I am still on the tablets and am trying a music therapy thing I found online, it involves listing to tinnitus based music for 1/2 hour each day for a week at normal level and then for the following two weeks do the same but raising the volume each week, it’s got to be worth a try, thanks for the good wishes x
Wicked lady I hope your DH’s eye heals quickly xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for the start.
Yesterday's forecast rain never materialised (or if it did I must have missed it); today promises to be a day of sunny intervals with a light breeze and temperatures around a consistent 20 deg. Ideal for sitting outside and watching the world go by but that will have to wait until this afternoon.
A final load is in the WM and I can see the bottom of the laundry basket - a pity it doesn't stay that way. 🙄 After that's hung outside I'll be attacking the brambles again; there's just one clump left in a corner and it's proving very stubborn to get the roots out but I shall not be defeated! The only other job to do is book a grocery delivery slot, hopefully for Monday, but that will be after I've pruned the shopping list - the total cost is somewhat higher than I'd like it to be! 😯 I've had a rummage of the freezer for tea tonight and will be doing a concoction of salmon pieces, peas and sweetcorn with either pasta or rice.
@remmie - Oh dear, and things were going so well with the sink!
@TA - Yes, I'm old enough to remember that song, Harry Belafonte wasn't it?
@WL - Glad your DH's cataract op went ahead, I hope it heals quickly.
@Izzy - Happy haircut, enjoy your 'me' time.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed the music therapy brings you some relief, that flapping noise must be so annoying.
Off to attack the
junglebrambles now so I'll wish everyone a good weekend. Hugs for the poorlies and those struggling with lack of sleep. Take care. xxBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
TA, all I can think of now is the song There's a hole in my bucket. That did make me laugh, although I haven't told him. So far this morning he's moaned (and that's putting it politely) that the waste is difficult to get to, and the latest one is that the washing machine is in the way. It's next to the sink.
OH can turn his hand to most jobs, but hasn't really done plumbing much, now we know why 😂
ETA Now he's walking the dog, to have a think.

Afternoon all, late one from me, we've been at DGS football most of the morning.
DH has nipped to the butchers on the way home to get some kebabs to BBq. Might as well make the most of the good weather.
Yesterday we went to a funeral,1 half of DH's parents best friends, she was the only one left & was 90 odd. We didn't know many people there, just her children but had a good chat to them & they were pleased we'd gone. DH gave them a photo of when they were all on holiday as children which they liked.
We still have to take Ldog out, will go through the woods as it'll be cooler.
Hope the sink waste gets done ok Remmie.
Not read back on yesterday but hope the meds and music solve your ear Ruby.
Have a good day, stay safe in the sun.
