Logitech Harmony 555 Universal Remote which retails for about £85 is for sale on Amazon for £42.
This has also been awarded the 'Best Universal Remote of 2007' by What Hi-Fi, Sound & Vision.

I've ordered mine!

Incredibly, pixmania will not ship to me in belfast. From a company well known to be selling continental goods, that really is taking the pi$$.

I'll second the sentiment on Pixmania - they happily accepted my faulty goods back (sent at my cost with a promise to reimburse) and took a year (after many 0870 phonecalls, emails, and false promises of calling back) to issue a *part* refund... so I still lost some money as well as postage. Never again.

It's possible to get them to ship to NI if you buy directly from their website. However, if shipping to England, they offer Parcel Force and charge £6.70. If shipping to Northern Ireland, they only offer UPS for some £12 which is totally excessive on a £42 item. I phoned them to tried to ask them why and if it was possible at all to use Royal Mail / Parcel Force for Northern Ireland since this is normally the same price as for England but essentially, what I got from the customer services lady was "That's the way it is and I don't care, you are not important enough. Feel free to send an email."

This certainly gave me second thought about buying from them.

I had heard about the quality of customer service (or lack of) from Pixmania but have been looking at getting one of these Logitech Remotes for quite a while and this is BY FAR the cheapest I have found. So I thought... what the hell and ordered one.

I'll let you know the outcome, it should be with me in the next few days.

Although I dislike "Amazon marketplace", in this case, you might be better to order from Pixmania via Amazon rather than directly because if I understand, Amazon offers some (weak?) kind of protection to those that use "Amazon marketplace"

I was considering getting one before I realised that Pixmania is yet-another-internet-company-that-charge-ridiculous-delivery-charge-for-northern-ireland

This comes to about £48 with delivery.

Alternative suppliers:

Amazon themselves do the 525 for £43.62 including delivery.

Expansys offer the Xbox360 for £48 plus delivery

Essentially, they all do the same thing. The 555 has 2 more buttons than the 525 and I think the xbox360 has 2 more than the 555.
