Good morning, thanks for starting us off Scarlet.
Dry and bright outside, won't see much of the outside world today as its sink fitting day, I've been told to empty the cupboard underneath so will do that soon. My job will no doubt be the gopher and drink provider.
No idea what's for tea tonight, depends on how far we get and whether I can be bothered to cook. Plenty in to choose from.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning again, I'm late this morning, I think all that carpet cleaning tired me out! It snowballed from one room to 2 rooms and the staircase. However, it's done now.
Happy birthday for yesterday NRA hope you enjoyed your day.
Sorry to hear that your bus buddy has health problems TA. Sounds worrying.
Glad that your Dh saw the light about the sink Remmie.
I've got an online shopping order coming this afternoon, I do one occasionally if I need heavy/bulky stuff.
You sound busy as usual YL, I can always find something to do as well.
Better go, my battery is low, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. We had a lovely sunny start but the cloud is taking over now. I don't suppose it will be long before the inevitable showers arrive. At least it's still mild so that's something to be thankful for!
I seem to have slipped out of routine lately but today I have put my organised head on and will clean the kitchen and bathroom to ease the burden of the Friday Tidy tomorrow. No washing or ironing to do, I emptied both baskets yesterday.
My bus buddy rang me yesterday evening but nothing to report, she is still awaiting the results of the scans she had on Monday. She was told someone would ring her so is on pins waiting for the phone to ring. I think she just wanted someone to offload her worries to. Her DH is suffering with Alzheimer's so she can't really have a conversation with him as he can't grasp the seriousness of her problems. I said anytime she just wants a chat I am here to listen. I remember just how draining it is.
Have a lovely day if you can folks, ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all and be safe x

Morning all
Slightly overcast here but no rain due, I have a load of washing in the machine and another to go in after, I will hang them both out later.
I have just done another e consult with my GP this ear thing is still going on and it’s driving me mad it’s now constant and I’m unable to sleep or get any respite at all, I’m really hoping they can give me something to stop or ease it.
I have shopping to collect later and the dogs will need a walk, OH is here but has done his back in so won’t be able to take them.
Not sure what’s for dinner tonight it will be something in the shopping I will decide later.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone
It's raining here and is forecast to be showers all day. DD in Germany on the other hand has sunshine and temperatures in the 30s for the next 10 days or so…she sent me a photo of their forecast!
Thank you for all your kind thoughts about mam, my visit yesterday was awful…I went over to my friend for a cuppa and a sympathetic ear when I got home. It's like mam has turned into a completely different person, the way she speaks, or more often shouts, at the carers is awful.
I did an e consult yesterday morning as my cough has been keeping me awake at night, I got a phone call about 5 minutes later with an appointment for a couple of hours later…the surgery started a new system a few months ago and it's definitely working. I got antibiotics and steroids, I'll go into town for them this morning before work and will drop a bag of clothes at one of the charity shops too.
I hope you get an appointment too Redruby.
Nra hope you enjoyed your birthday x
Right, best get a move on…I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all. Dull but dry again here.
One load of coloured washing is on the line and DH has taken his car to the dealers to have the air con investigated. I swear it's never worked properly and all they ever do is re-gas it.
We've just realised that DH won't be allowed to do any lifting or bending for a while after his cataract op tomorrow so we're going to strip the bed this morning and turn the mattress. I'm planning on making Mary Berry's cauliflower soup for tomorrow as well, in case he doesn't feel like a big meal. I do like her Mary 90 cookbook and have now bought a pack of small post it marker tabs so I can attach them to my favourite pages. Same with a couple of the M Mosley books and I'm making his pan fried pork steaks with a dijon mustard sauce for tonight, as we can just have that with green veg. I've now managed to get my BMI down to under 25 by cutting back on carbs so would like to continue with that for a while.
Last night's dancing at the pub was fun and the route there took me past one of the back entrances to Chequers. In fact, we had a police car randomly come along and she parked up nearby and stayed for a while, chatting and having photos taken. It was a very small pub at the end of a small village so we had to dance in the road and station people either end to control the passing traffic.
Better get going now. Take care everyone.

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x Glad you got the carpets done - such a huge job!
Happy belated birthday @newroadahead for yesterday and Happy Birthday @Suffolksue for today xx
We are back from a week in Majorca. Lovely hotel and the resort was gorgeous. A slight delay on the way home meant late to bed on Tuesday and we were both working yesterday. Enjoyed the football with DDad last night 🍻
I’m off to the (sadist) dental hygienist this morning then DDad and I will visit Sandwich for lunch. It’s the pub quiz tonight too - all go.
Hope your bus buddy hears something soon @TravellingAbuela it’s horrible waiting for news xHope @Gers is enjoying her trip x
Good call on the sink @remmie x
I too get that ear flapping @RedRuby1231 i have a referral to the audiology dept (since Oct) as my eardrum has a build up of calcium. But tinitis is also a symptom of menopause (what isn’t…??)
Have a good day all.

Morning all, thanks Scarlet- it's cloudy but warm here with rain forecast in a bit. I've been out with Ldog already, DH is still helping DS2 at work so he dropped us off at the park ( for some unknown reason he refuses point blank to walk up the road but is ok coming back home 😀) The park keeper was in the car park and he raced towards him like a long lost friend, even though we saw him yesterday, although he does keep treats in his pocket… I'm expecting his food delivery today, that's gone up in price too.
I defrosted the chest freezer yesterday & am going to do the small one today, and possibly change the bedding, thanks for the reminder @WickedLady4 Glad you had fun last night.
@TravellingAbuela , sorry to hear your buddy isn't well, hope it can be sorted.
@dp1 sorry your DMam isn't settled, the carers do a hard job. My older cousin seems to be a bit like that in the nursing home too.
Hope the sink fitting goes well @remmie
Hope you had a lovely birthday NRA
Ruby hope you get your ear sorted.
Our friends messaged last night, they had to have their beloved cat put to sleep. He was pretty old but as he turned up as a stray one day years ago at their isolated house ( they think he was dumped) they don't really know. I'd better ring them today.
Pork stir fry for tea tonight, nice and easy. Take care all.

a late one from me happy birthday Suffolk sue I’ve not long got in from a cleaning job I’m tired today I won’t be doing much else I am just sitting having a sandwich and a cuppa then I will make my mind up I might do nothing. DP1 I’m sorry to hear about your mam I once worked with a lady who had a lovely husband full of fun and a proper gentleman he had to go into a care home when he got dementia he was very violent and his language was shocking she used to always say I’m pleased he doesn’t know what he’s saying or doing as he would be horrified it can be such a cruel thing to happen. Ruby I hope you get your ear sorted . Thinyof all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Afternoon all, thanks @Scarlet for today's start. And a very Happy Birthday to @Suffolksue - I hope your day is filled with good things. 🎁
I had to get up early this morning for a comfort break and a couple of paracetamol; for some (unknown) reason the wretched headache is back. The sun was shining beautifully then but, when I finally surfaced, it was cloudy. A bit of a letdown as the forecast had been for a sunny day. 🙄 Still, it's mild with a gentle breeze and it's dry so not all bad.
I've been a busy bee this morning and have chopped down most of the brambles but there are far more than I thought and I've still got the roots to grub up so that will be a job for tomorrow - I can't face doing any more today. I've made a batch of cheese scones and am now trying to summon up the energy to change my bedding. And I think that will be it for the day. 😁 Tea tonight is YS chorizo sausages, baby potatoes and mixed veg, yogurt and grated apple with a sprinkle of cinnamon for afters.
@Scarlet - The only time I'm not busy is when I have my nose in a book, then anyone and everything gets ignored. 😊
@TA - I hope your bus buddy doesn't have to wait too long for her test results and that they won't be as bad as she might be expecting. It's good she has you to talk to.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed your GP can come up with a solution for your ear problems. Lack of sleep is so draining.
@dp1 - Glad you have meds for your cough, I hope they kick in quickly. I'm sorry I can't offer any words of comfort for your mam's situation; sadly dementia takes away the loved one bit by bit and it's hard to remember the 'real' person is still inside there somewhere. How is your dad coping?
@WL - Well done on getting your BMI down. Carbs are my downfall too so I know just how hard it is.
@Coxy - Glad you enjoyed Majorca, shame it's back to reality now!
Right, off to change the bedding - it might not get washed today but at least it will be done! Have a good day and enjoy the footie if that's your thing. Take care all. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7
