Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
It's raining and there are 2 school trips today, both outdoors. I may or may not be going on one, depends if one member of staff calls in sick, she wasn't keen on going!
Meringues made for tomorrow's pot luck lunch, may make more tonight for friends over the road as I have loads of eggs that won't get used otherwise.
My brain has gone dead so will wish everyone a good day, take care. XX

It's another miserable grey start here, though not as cold as it has been. It rained a bit last night.
I wasn't out yesterday ( well, apart from the quiz last night). Shampooed our bedroom carpet, the big landing, and down the few stairs to the half landing. Today I'll finish the stairs then do the living room. Originally, I was just going to do the bedroom, then the living room was added, then I thought I might as well do the staircase while I had the machine out.
We used to get someone in to do the carpets now and again, but the last time we had to get a different man. He did a good enough job doing the two room downstairs, but he spent a bit of time telling us how he'd updated his house and how we should do this and that in our house (it's an old house) He seemed to be here ages! Anyway we bought a machine and do it ourselves now and again. It's not something you do often. An old friend of mine doesn't believe in cleaning carpets, she says it spoils them. I think that might have been the case when everyone had wool carpets but ours are all synthetic fibres.
You seemed to have a lovely time at Lilidorei Dp1, but sorry to read that your mam is still unsettled.
Remmie, you seem to have been unlucky with the eye surgery, hope your eye soon improves. I had a lens replacement and macular hole repair last year without any problems. I'd been a bit apprehensive but it turned out well.
Hope you're feeling better WL.
TA, did you get out for lunch yesterday, hope you did.
it seems to be brightening a bit here, I'm going to put some bedroom curtains in the wm, they should dry if the weather gets no worse than this.
Hope everyone is all right and has good days, take care folks,

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for the new Daily. CAMELOT I hope you don't end up having to go on the school trip. Folk who conveniently become ill when faced with something they don't want to do are so darned annoying.
Well, as is par for the course these days, we have a gloomy start here. And a day of light rain is promised, although the nithering wind seems to have finally moved on. Yesterday ended up a lovely day with some much needed sunshine. I met my DF for lunch and it was lovely ambling along without umbrellas and jackets. Our venue gets quieter every time we go these days so a lovely lunch and much downloading of woes was enjoyed.
My bad news is that my bus buddy has had some bad news healthwise and is currently undergoing lots of tests. A worrying time for her and her family. I shall miss our bus trips and can only hope for her sake that something can be done that will help her.
Have a good day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for all in need or want of one. Thinking of our MIA, SILVER-OLDIE I hope you are ok. DP1 I hope your DM will soon settle in the home. It must be so upsetting to see her like that. Take care all, be safe x

Rained overnight here, will save watering - the garden is grateful.
Penultimate day invigilating yesterday which would only be defined as a morning of awkward students and an afternoon of awkward staff!
Some tidying up needed today and a sort out in the van -hoping to go away a couple of nights tomorrow just for a change of scenery. Managed to do DMs Blue badge application with her the last two evenings, wasn’t quite as onerous as the one for Attendance Allowance - will just have to wait now.Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all
It’s been raining here this morning and is now overcast I have washing to do but will save it for tomorrow when is supposed to be a bit better.
I’m off to mums for two hours today she has asked me to make her a spag bol, I will do enough for tomorrow too, she also has a few apples which she can’t eat due to her teeth so I will stew them today and make her some custard to go with it.
Dinner tonight will be carbonara there is still a good bit of gammon left so should do a few sandwiches too. I will take the dogs out before I go out.
TA I hope your bus buddy can get some answers and help xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning
Dry now after a wet night, the rain was quite heavy at times. Today we're waiting in for the new sink and mixer tap to be delivered, and I went for stainless steel, DH was adamant he wanted black but I told him of all your helpful comments and he eventually backed down.
I got an "urgent" phone call from the eye clinic yesterday to make an appointment, 30th June, so not that urgent then!
Tonight's meal will depend on if OH starts on fitting the sink, so may just be something quick if so.
TA thinking of your friend x
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for the start.
It's overcast and breezy here at the moment but the sun should be on its way soon and we might even get up to the high teens today! Hopefully this is the start of the nicer weather we keep being promised.
I got most of the patio weeding done yesterday so today's main job is to get it finished and out of the way, plus there's some brambles that need dealing with as well before they get too established. Last night I measured the spare sheet, cut it down to single bed size and pinned the hem ready for sewing tonight but, before I drag out the machine, I may as well see if there's anything else that needs doing at the same time, although nothing springs to mind. Tea tonight is chicken kievs, oven chips, peas & sweetcorn.
@Scarlet - I had to smile at the carpet shampooing becoming a bigger job than intended - why oh why do we make work for ourselves? 🤔
@TA - I'm so sorry to hear of your bus buddy's bad health news, worrying indeed.
@AA - Good luck with the Blue Badge and AA applications. Hope you manage to get away for a couple of days.
@remmie - Glad to hear your DH saw the light over the black sink! 🙂
Whatever your plans, have a good day and take care. As always, hugs where needed. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning All
TA hope your friend gets the help she needs.
Scarlett i bought a carpet cleaner as a Christmas present to myself a couple of years ago. It seems to make a big difference as we have light coloured carpet, but as you say hard work moving furniture etc.
DP1 thinking of you and your mum, sending hugs xx
We are off out to lunch soon, its my birthday today the years seem to fly by. DH paid for some new clothes for our holiday when we were out yesterday and received a hugs beautiful bouquet from a dear friend.
Have a good day all, weather set to get warmer by the weekend, so BBQ planned for fathers day. Hugs to all who want them.
