Maybe this discussion was covered elsewhere, but are these units legal in UK to plug in to a mains socket? Even after 27th August?

    6.4kWp (16 * 400Wp REC Alpha) facing ESE + 5kW Huawei inverter + 10kWh Huawei battery. Vaillant Arotherm Pro 7kW heat pump.

    No and no.

They're not covered by the interim product specification (IPS). The IPS excludes battery storage systems.

They do have the necessary approvals for use as a hard-wired installation, rather than plugin - hence the inverted commas in my thread title. And plugin batteries remain under consideration by the Government for future expansion of the scheme.

I've added a note to the opening post to explain this.

Just in case anyone other than me is interested, here's an end-of-August update:

Total outputs by month, per the EcoFlow app:

    • April - 20kWh (one panel, lying mostly flat and shaded for all morning, for half the month).
    • May - 164kWh (all four panels on the shed roof from the 12th).
    • June - 206kWh, 114 Os.
    • July - 249kWh, 138 Os.
    • August - 199kWh, 111 Os.

Since installation, we've so far generated ~844kWh from this kit despite its less-than-ideal location with panels split roughly N-S on a shallow-pitched shed roof that's shaded by trees from mid-afternoon. It's also limited by the 800 watt inverter, which means it clips quite heavily once the battery is full.
