build up an emergency fund to avoid using credit in future.
Also how much do you guys set aside as spending money each month and how much do you spend on food shop a month?
0 -
Everyone is different but we have £500 per month for groceries and I set aside £50 for myself a month. But things like car costs, mobile phones, etc are accounted for elsewhere.
Emergency fund is a great idea.

I found out my wife's person bills and couldnt believe her phone contract is £86 a month - thats the phone and data - is there any way she can get out of this at all?
0 -
Any more info
Which provider, how long is the contract?
Is this including a new phone, if so what type?
0 -
O2, iphone 16 pro max, 36 months. until July 2028
£850 to pay off the contract. was thinking get a loan for £48.74 for 2 years.
then get a sim only deal around £15
£63.74 alltogether - still a savings i suppose

Yes as you say still a saving.
The phone still has to be paid for.
But instead of a loan, could you consider the following,
- Sell something
- Interest free credit card
- Don't forget cashback sites even for SIM only deal

sell something like what?
