Working and Fit note while on UC

Hi, I work 25 to 30 hours a week, but have been given a Fit Note today from my doctor stating I am not fit for work for just over a fortnight. It may or may not be longer. Time will tell.

Anyway, I receive UC inc rent element and am wondering if I need to report and submit the fit note via my UC Journal? or am I fine only submitting it to my employer?

I've never had a note in my life, so not got a clue.

You definitely need to hand it over to your employer so they can get your SSP sorted. As for Universal Credit, since the fit note is only for a fortnight, there is no strict requirement to upload it to your journal, as it wont change your work capability category. However, if you have any work search commitments you cant meet or if you have an upcoming appointment with your work coach, its much safer to log it under report a change and then health. This covers your back and prevents any potential sanctions. Hope you feel better soon!
