Morning again, its fine at the moment but rain is forecast.
Hope sports day went well Camelot.
Hope you've enjoyed your holiday in the caravan TA.
The funeral went as well as these things do yesterday, it was sad to say goodbye to an old friend, but she was 85 and had had a good life. Her daughters, who we've known since they were little girls, were surprised and touched by the number of people there,
Nothing much going on today, there's ironing to do, so I'll tackle that. The garden could do with a tidy as well, strange, I was out there over the weekend weeding, and sweeping up, but it looks a bit of a mess already.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, glad your friend had a good send off.
Sports day was cancelled, the weather hadn't been too bad in the morning but there was torrential rain at around 1pm so it was called off. There are very few days left that it can be fitted in so we'll wait and see. Parents weren't happy but they would have complained if the children (and them) were left out in the rain.
I met some friends for something to eat after work, it was good to catch up and have a good laugh.
Washing just about to finish but it can stay inside and I'll see what the weather is like when I get home.
Hoping everyone is well, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks Scarlet. Good to hear the funeral went as well as it could.
Another rubbish day is promised here but sounds as though I have similar to look forward to at home! DD is coming to ferry me home after lunch. I have made a start on packing, bedstripping etc, tidied all round so just a quick clean around to do. I'll be back in another couple of weeks, I hope to better weather! DD and her DP are hoping to come at the weekend for the annual Knaresborough bed race (as spectators!) And it sounds they might be lucky with the weather!
Have a good day all take care x

Morning all
Bright and sunny here for now but rain due at lunch time, I have a wash in the wm and will try to hang it out for a while, I have shopping to collect this morning and the paint to take back, but first the dogs will need walking.
Dinner tonight will be garlic creamy chicken with pasta or rice, I’m also going to make a quiche for tomorrow, I am on a course all day so will need something ready when I get in.
I also have a couple of admin bits to do and another online course 🙄 I do get fed up with all these courses but have to do them.
Gers lovely to hear from you and mid flight! Safe landing and travel home xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone, & thanks Scarlet. Glad the funeral went ok.We have one next week, she was half of the couple who were best friends with DH parents, we think she must have been in her mid 90s. We had lost touch after we moved here apart from Ccards but her DD tracked us down and messaged DH.
DH had to cancel the visit to the garage yesterday as he stayed helping DS2 at work , so has just gone now instead. DS told me he thought his dad had enjoyed it, although it seems his back hadn't this morning! I know he gets a bit bored at home, sat with his laptop on U tube and the news. He needs a hobby!
It's looking like rain which will scupper my dog walk, but he has just said hello to 2 bin men who stroked him through the gate- it has 3 decorative cut outs , very handy height for a good nosey 😊
Quiet ish day today, but tomorrow we are off on the train to Manchester & meet up with my ex Sis-i-law and her DH for a pub lunch. Friday I have to take DGS to the hospital for a dental Xray as some of his back teeth haven't come through yet, his DM says hers were the same.
It feels chilly here so I've taken out some pre cooked mince I did, I'll see what I feel like doing with it later 😆
Have a good day if you can, hugs if not.

Morning all
Hope you've landed safely and on your way home now @Gers
Bit of housework done and just been sorting bits out for our holiday at the weekend now DH has got the cases down from where I can't reach!
Thought I might not have to put DS on garden watering duty next week but on checking the forecast methinks he will now.
DH rang to say the engine management light has come on in his car so we may have to take mine to the airport. DS has a computer thing to plug in to see what the actual problem is before he knows whether it needs to go to the garage for them to deal with.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for the start today.
It's fine here at the moment BUT the rain will no doubt make an appearance at some stage, like it did yesterday, the day before that and so on. 🙄 It may well be meteorological summer but it's chilly and feels more like autumn so I'm impatient for the improvement that we're promised from Friday onwards. @TA - I'm surprised you haven't been washed away! And yes, it's been just as bad here.
@Scarlet - Glad the funeral went well yesterday.
@camelot - It's a shame the sports day was cancelled because of the weather, I hope it can be re-arranged soon.
@Gers - Looking forward to your holiday news.
My grocery delivery yesterday was all good - no subs or out of stocks - and I'm happy the pantry is well stocked again. I get very twitchy when the shelves look empty but I have been making an effort to use up items near or past their BB dates so space was to be expected. Just a couple of items to go (a box of pudding rice and a jar of Xmas mincemeat) but they'll keep so there's no rush.
Yesterday DS spotted a local news item that said we're due to have a Lidl open near us 'soon' although no date given. That could be interesting seeing as it will be within a few hundred yards of a large Sainsburys.
Nothing exciting happening today, just the usual housework stuff and a fish pie to make for dinner.
Have a good day all, take care. Usual hugs where wanted or needed. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
