Prescription Prepayment vs FP57
I am trying to work out if a PPC would be worth in the long run – but in the meantime I need some medication, unfortunately…
As far as I can understand, I can backdate your PPC by a month, if (and only if) I've got asked for (and got handed) an FP57 form when I paid for the meds.
So, essentially I can get my health sorted quickly, and then decide (a bit) later, when I have done the math - and get a refund for the medication(s) that I need in the meantime, provided I collected all FP57 forms for any purchases?
Do I get this right?

Surely you are pretty confident over whether you are going to need 3 medicines in 3 months / 11 in 12 months ?
Anyway, yes you should be able to get a refund for any prescriptions paid for during the validity of the PPC, as long as you have the FP57s, even though you applied after the event. Not really any point being able to backdate it otherwise is there ?

The question really is, if the outcome of the current treatment will be that I'm fine with 3 months, or should be go for the 12…

Surely you can go for the 3 months and then decide at that point whether to go for a further 3 months or a 12 month?
