Morning again, its a bit grey here. Yesterday was really cold, with little showers, I was glad to get home, having gone out in a thin jacket.
I didn't find any shoes, The sandals seemed to be either all straps, or clumping great things that would look ridiculous on the end of my skinny little legs! There were some nice shoes but very pointed and would not be comfortable. There were some nice loafers but I don't need them. .I might go to Newcastle next week and see what I can find there, Like others, I've always liked shoes, now I have arthritis in one foot so need comfort, I'm looking in the wrong shops I think.
Hope the wedding went well Mehefin.
Glad your dgd is recovering Camelot, and hope that she enjoyed her risotto.
Good to see you Coxy, you'll be looking forward to your holiday.
Yorkslass finding meals suitable for reheating can be difficult sometimes, years ago I used to do it for my dgd. She came in from work later than we did, so it was always a reheated meal for her, not that she minded.
Hope everyone's ok and has a good day, take care folks.

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x I hope you can find some suitable shoes - I was after a pair of white trainers for the holiday but gave up - will use what I’ve got!
It’s our WA today - 29 years - lovely sunny day then too. We are off for afternoon tea at a local hotel then to DSis house to see Dad who is staying there. DH will also get the cases down today.
I hope the wedding went well @mehefin xxHave a good Sunday all

Morning all
Lovely sunny day here what a contrast to yesterday when it was cold and raining all day, the rain will be back tomorrow though and for the rest of the week 🙄
I got two coats of paint on the cupboard yesterday it will need another one today, I’ve gone from white to charcoal so it’s taking some covering, it looks so good though, it’s the cupboard under the sink in the utility and transforms the room, I aim to get it finished today.
Dinner tonight will be a bbq, OH has a steak and dd and I have minty lamb steaks I much prefer the lamb to beef steak, we will have some vegetable rice and mushrooms stuffed with garlic cream cheese and some asparagus, really looking forward to it.
Housework to do this morning after painting and dogs to be walked, also we are waiting for confirmation of the plumber coming to fit the new boiler so if it’s tomorrow then we will need to empty the boot cupboard, he said this week so it could be any day.
Coxy Happy Anniversary and have a great holiday xx
Looking forward to hearing about the wedding Mehefin xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning folks and thanks Scarlet. I too share your pain re shoes. I gave up on them long ago and stick to trainers and sandals ( when weather permits!!)
Happy WA Coxy hope you have a lovely day.
The wind got back up through the night and the pots on the decking were all blown over again. I'm fighting a losing battle with them. There's currently patches of blue sky but I'm under no illusion they will last!
Have a lovely day folks and take care x

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet are you anywhere near Dalton park they have a few shoe shops there might suit you although Newcastle is probably better I have terrible feet I now wear fitflops trainers they are expensive but I get them in the sale and they last for ages I can quickly wear a pair of shoes out . Coxy happy anniversary have a lovely day and a lovely holiday. RR you are a busy bee it will be nice when it’s all done and you can get things put away well worth the effort. Well it rained all day yesterday I’m hoping it will hold off today to get some washing dry I stripped the beds yesterday but I’ve waited until today to wash it in the hope of getting it hung out . I’ve cooked a little pork joint I will do veg and Yorkshire puddings later I need to wash the kitchen floor but other than that it will be a day off pottering.thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all
Cloudy here and the wind is up too
DH is putting up the wigwam structure etc so I can plant my runner beans. Planted 12 but only 6 came up. Should be OK though.
Re shoes/feet. I've got arthritis/bunions on my big toes and find wearing trainers and very wide fitting shoes work at the moment but each year when I put my summer footwear on some are still comfortable and some aren't. Also since wearing flipflops/sliders during the hot weather recently my toes hurt and sting. Once I put shoes/trainers on not so much. Apparently it's to do with the support of shoes. Makes sense I suppose.
Apart from that nothing else planned.
Have a good day all and hope the wedding went well @mehefin

Happy Anniversary Coxy enjoy your day x
Derek hope the wedding went well and was enjoyed by all.
Dry here today but wet weather to resume tomorrow. Helped DH in the garden earlier, have covered his strawberries with netting as the birds have been getting greedy.
Cooking a mini roast shortly, may do some more knitting later.
Hope all our poorlies are starting to feel better. Hugs to all who want them.

Good afternoon
A late one from me, I went to As*a this morning as they gave me £5 off £35 on the app. The journey there was interesting, to get there it's down a country road which also has stables. It's unusual to see the horses but today they were taking 2 of them to a nearby field. I sat behind them as they walked the horses down the road, it's too narrow to try and pass anyway. When they got to the field everyone of them turned and thanked me. It really made my day. Unlike As*a, who had an offer on fresh meat which didn't come off, so I had to queue at CS for a refund. Always check your receipts folks.
So, tonight will be a buffet of pork pie, quiche and gammon which I cooked yesterday, also coleslaw and potato salad.
Hope all went well yesterday Mehefin.
Have a good day all, take care.

Afternoon everyone. I had a very lazy day yesterday but did manage to finish reading another book. I had thought about going out for a walk but the weather was so dire that idea soon got shelved. 😁 Despite being so idle, I was really tired all day and glad to have an early night.
I had a lie in this morning and, after a nice breakfast of bacon, egg, tomatoes and toast, got cracking with what needed to be done - washed up, emptied kitchen bin, made beds, prepped dinner (pork & apple casserole, carrots and mash) and made up a shopping list for a grocery delivery sometime this week. I've tried to keep it down to a minimum so as to keep on using up old stocks of stuff before buying more. When I did the carrots this morning I could see some of them were starting to go mushy so they've all been scrubbed, denuded of any dodgy bits and are now sitting in a tub of cold water in the fridge. I think I'll make some spicy carrot & lentil soup with them - not exactly summer food but the weather isn't summery either! Currently having a nostalgia session listening to some CDs - the likes of ELO, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon etc. Giving my age away there! 😂
@Scarlet - Sorry you didn't find any shoes, better luck with your trip to Newcastle. It seems quite a few of us now prefer comfort rather than style or has age given us more common sense?
@Coxy - Have a lovely anniversary. 🍾
@Ruby - Keep going with the painting, nearly there!
I hope yesterday's wedding went well @mehefin and that Gers is enjoying Canada. Enjoy what's left of the weekend, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
