Council Tax Challenge

I have unsuccessfully being trying to challenge my council tax band. I am in a higher band than my neighbours who all live in the same type of property - year of build, size, design, etc. The only difference with mine is that it was once the end of terrace but when I bought it, a house had been built in what would have been my garden. When the VOA provided me with the information they hold about my property there was a lot wrong. The square footage was way higher, it said I had a garage (which I don't), that I have 5 rooms downstairs (which I don't). I have provided so much evidence comparing myself to other properties but they just come back saying that I haven't provided enough evidence and that the other properties are not like mine, which again is untrue. It is very frustrating - I find myself living in an identical property to my three closest neighbours and paying a lot more in council tax. In fact, their properties are slightly larger and they have a garage. And of course they have a bigger garden - mine was reduced to build the house next door. Has anyone managed to challenge the information that is held on the VOA? Particularly if there have been material changes since 1991. Thank you!
