Morning Scarlet and all to follow
Pouring with rain here and very stormy we are to expect thunder and lightning later, I have two people coming today and we have decided to have a rare day at home, we will go to the shop first to get a few bits then we will do some baking, one of my people does not like staying in so it’s rare we get a chance, we will play some games and maybe watch a film too.
Dinner tonight will be pork chop mash and veg I will prep the spuds and veg today while I am here. I need to try and get the dogs out at some point.
I took mum shopping yesterday and she got herself a good few new t shirts in sainsbugs they had a sale on so she got some bargains, she also got a new toaster as hers has stopped working.
I hope Gers got to Canada safely xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Still wet and dismal out but quite mild, washing is on the pulley. If it's nice when I get home it can go out for a while.
I woke up early (nothing unusual) so have done the ironing but seem to have run out of hangers, must be time for a wardrobe cull!
Popped out last night to see a friend who has had a rather nasty lump removed from her nose, it looks sore but she's pleased with how it all went. Had a good natter and put the world to rights.
I heard from Gers who had a good flight, hoping it's a great holiday.
Hoping everyone is well and you have a good day. Take care. XX

Good Morning, I’ve managed to sleep until 7am! I ended up being unwell yesterday so didn’t achieve much. Today, I will work on the online grocery shop that will now arrive tomorrow. I need to use up freezer bits as the freezer needs to be defrosted soon, so I will get some cook books out for menu inspiration.
Apart from this, nothing else is planned. It is going to be wet, so I will find some indoor jobs to do. There is a kitchen cupboard that could do with a tidy so might do this.
Take care.9 -
Morning again - it's fine here after heavy rain last night.
Hope you enjoy your holiday Gers.
Izzy, sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your holiday as much as you expected to.
Yesterday was ok, went to the book club, visited a friend, did some housework.
Not much going on today, but hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning all
Just had a deluge of rain fall. Will do the garden good. Half a chance we could get some more but sky is looking clearer now
Waste of time shopping yesterday. Most of the clothes looked like an explosion in a paint factory and all the dresses were too long for me being under 5 feet tall! I got some yellow stickered food in Marks but that was about it!
Nothing planned today so will go with the flow
Hope you all have a good day x

Hi everyone,
Can I join in please? ☕️
I used to post on another daily board years ago and I miss it.
Thanks for starting us off Scarlet.
I'm working pretty much all day today 9-9(!), hopefully a dog walk at lunchtime.
Hoping to find out if my contract at work will be extended or I'll need to up my job search game! 😨
Getting shopping delivered - copied it into Gemini and it sorted my meal plan.
I've got an online shop coming every Tuesday. I was trying to decide whether to bother if cupboards aren't bare, but maybe that's where we've been going wrong - waiting until it feels 'too late' and then opting for take aways. 🙄 I've found my way here now so no excuses!!
Chicken in the slow cooker later.
Did household budget with OH for June.

Good morning
It's all or nothing, isn't it? After the heatwave last week we now have torrential rain, still the garden needs it. Luckily I did my washing yesterday and got it dry before the rain started.
I went to the supermarket Sunday morning, got there ready for 9.30 browsing time. Gosh, it was like a club, everyone knowing everyone else and friendly. I had a look around and picked up a few bits, mainly tins for the cupboard. I was 3rd in the checkout queue but by the time they opened at 10 o'clock the queues were down the aisles. Having said that it was a good experience and I'll do it again.
Due to the weather today I'm going to take a chance on making a beef stew. I've got some steak in the freezer that needs using.
Camelot, thanks for letting us know that Gers arrived safely, hope she enjoys her holiday.
Welcome loobidoo, nice to meet you.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all; it's wet here too.
I've actually booked a date to have my tooth implant and paid a deposit; not looking forward to the procedure but will hopefully be pleased with the end result. DH needs the same thing doing, but later in the year, so that will be lots of £££s decluttered!
Today I have an eye test booked and then I'm out playing for Morris at a pub near Dunstable this evening, although I think it'll still be raining. Might make a few biscuits if I have some time. I bought two fennel bulbs yesterday and might try a Mary Berry recipe with them. I've got her latest Mary 90 book and there are lots of good sounding things in there.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for the start. Thanks also @camelot for letting us know Gers arrived safely.
Today's weather is cloudy with light showers and quite mild. I need to go out for some milk so, who knows, my new brolly might finally be christened!
DS has gone off for the first day of his new job. @Izzy - You're right, this one must surely be better than the last one (I hope). 🤞 Normal hours are 11am to 9pm but he's gone in early this morning to get togged out with high viz jacket, name badge, security pass, tour of the premises etc before meeting up with his support partner who he'll be shadowing for the first three days.
Because of the recent hot weather I've only been doing the necessary and have fallen way behind with things so there's plenty to catch up on. My strategy is to do the daily stuff plus one or two 'extras' each day; today I'll clean the outside of the fridge/freezer, take down the net curtains in the living room and replace them with clean. Tea tonight is chilli (from the freezer) with rice, I can have mine at the normal time and I'll plate up DS's to microwave when he gets home at whatever time.
@Ruby - I hope your mum got on OK at the eye hospital yesterday.
@mehefin - IIRC, today you should be getting back the quilt Gwen's been making. Now you've seen how much work goes into it, I'm sure you'll appreciate why they can be so expensive. 😁 Fingers crossed all your potted on plants flourish.
@Izzy - Such a shame your holiday wasn't quite what you expected but no doubt you made the best of it.
@remmie - I told you you'd be able to see all the dust with your new eyes! 😂
I hope the spotty Little Ones are getting better and send hugs for those supporting elderly parents. Have a good day all, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
oh dear just realised Im an elderly parent !
We finally had lots of rain overnight ,seems to have stopped now,
Counting the bruises from my garden fall last Friday ,but nothing broken .
Plreased Gers has arrived safely .Stay safe all
