It’s quite nice here for now but rain due mid afternoon and tomorrow looks terrible with storms etc.
I am off to mum’s this morning and she has an appointment at the eye hospital I’m not sure what it’s for as they stopped doing the jabs a while ago but we will see, she wants to nip to a supermarket after to get a few bits, she also said her toaster is not working so I will have a look at it but we can buy one if it’s dead.
Dinner tonight will be curry and rice I have some chicken thighs left over, dd is off today so she may cook, there are also piles of washing for people to take up and put away.
I think Gers may be on her way by now - have a great time x
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Ruby, can't believe it's June already. Another 4 weeks of school and we'll be finished for the summer holidays.
After the epic rain yesterday morning it turned into quite a nice day, bedding almost dry outside and it was quite warm too although not a lot of sunshine. Woken up to rain this morning, just right for a Monday morning!
Lots done in the greenhouse yesterday and delivered some tomato, chilli and cucumber plants to a friend. Had a good natter and coffee which was lovely.
I'm going to get rid of a shelf unit in the living room so took everything off it, gave it a good clean and took photos so I can advertise it. It helps that it's still being sold in Next so I've taken some photos from their website too. The gifted shelf unit that didn't look right in the laundry has been taken to the tip so there's much more room in the kitchen now.
Hoping everyone is well, take care. XX

Good Morning everyone,
So nice that it is cooler and I managed to sleep until 4am and got up at 5am, so much better!Had my usual leisurely early morning of breakfast, reading and morning prayer. I am trying to get into a better routine, and I want to start introducing an early walk too as I have decided I have been far too lazy.
Plans for today are tidying up the home after the weekend, then visit with mum at her nursing home this afternoon.Other plans are to check last month’s expenditure and move any left over money into savings, pennies make the pounds as I keep reminding DH.
Take care.12 -
Morning folks and thanks RUBY for the new month Daily.
The forecast miserable weather is due to arrive and, according to the long range forecast, it's to stick with us! Oh well nothing we can do about it. I still plan on my caravan jaunt from tomorrow for at least a week, I may as well be there in the rain as here in the rain! I need to pack a variety of clothes for all weathers and be prepared for anything. I have made out the usual menu plan and will assemble all the frozen stuff together in readiness for packing up in the morning. It needs to be packed with freezer blocks as we are not going straight to the van and I don't want it thawing out. DD has booked us on the Embsay - Bolton Abbey heritage railway Breakfast Train on the way. It will be something different and I am looking forward to it. It gets good reviews so I hope it lives up to promise.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
Lower temperatures which are welcome and expecting rain around teatime so I won't have to water the garden!
Off to big shopping centre soon to have a look at some holiday clothes. I had a clear out in the week and have got some I might get rid of if I can find some similar replacements. I really must be alot more definite about slimming stuff down I've had for years but have hardly worn!
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning everyone
The rain forecast for yesterday didn't happen so when I came home from seeing mam and dad I did some planting, I enjoyed it. Theres still more to do and I need another couple of climbing plants.
I had a nice chat with DD in Germany, she was in Berlin doing another Hyrox competition with her friend. She's deliberating whether to move to a new apartment, she'd like a balcony now she's been promoted and has a bigger wage. The snag is she'll pay 2 rents for the next 3 months.
I thought of Dumpling this morning with it being the first day of June.
I have a pile of ironing to do before I go to work and some phone calls to make on mam and dads behalf.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for the start RRuby. We're going to try to do an earlier dogwalk now DH is up and breakfasted as rain is forecast in an hour or so. We'll probably drive to a local nature reserve/lodge - see how the swans and their cygnets are doing, a lovely sight.
DH barbecued some pork steaks last night & we had with new potatoes and veg, very tasty. Made some creme brulee too. Probably the sausages we didnt eat over the weekend later.
I need a clear out too Chrisca 😉
Enjoy your caravan stay TA.. I think that train ride is one we have done in the past, I love an old train ride.
Take care all.

Morning all, thanks for the start off @Ruby.
New month, new week - same old miserable weather! It's looking cloudy out with the likelihood of rain at some point every day this week but at least it's more comfortable for sleeping and working. @TA - I hope you don't get washed away when you're at the caravan this week! 😁
I've had a couple of days of not posting but there's not been much going on so nothing to tell really. One bit of good news though - DS has had not one but two job offers and starts work at one of them tomorrow and I'm hoping it's a better experience for him than the last company he was at.
Not sure what I'll be up to today but I'm sure I'll find something! Tea tonight is prawn pasta, a much needed change from all the salad we've been eating.
Best wishes to all for a good start to the week, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
morning everyone I’ve been out for a walk with my friend and a coffee it absolutely pored down but she’s doing a sponsored walk at the end of the year and wants to get her miles in we normally have a good walk but not if it’s raining and it’s set for the week .yorks lass I will keep everything crossed for DS it can’t be as bad as the last one surely. I’m making some sort of chicken and pasta bake tonight but otherwise not a lot happening here just housework as usual I really need to sort some wardrobes out we have far to many clothes and some we have had for years and I seam as if I wear the same things all the time that might be a job for later in the day . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Hello all from Mehefin on the first day of Mehefin (June)
yesterday was the civic service - without an organist ! (his wife has just gone into a hospice so it was understandable). We had recorded music instead, but whoever had done it had no sense of timing-it was quite amusing trying to sing hymns at different speeds, and I'm sure they missed a part in one of them! Otherwise a pleasant day.
No rain yet - could do with some now. Forecast is for a downpour sometime soon.
Off to Monmouth shortly- first of two trips there this week.
Hugs and spoons as always
Derek aka Mehefin
