Good Morning everyone,
A lovely, cooler morning to wake up to! Been up since 4:30, happily reading ‘Out of the Valley’ by Ronald Blythe. A very pleasant slow start to my day, following C of E Morning Prayer online, reading my book and tea and toast, perfect!
Plans for today: order a new washer/dryer as our present one decided to stop working yesterday, it has done well having bought it a decade ago. Then a few pottering around the house jobs to get the house ready for Sunday, namely, making it neat and tidy. This evening will be spent watching the football.
Tea for tonight will be beef burgers in a bap, they need to be used up, plus use up the lettuce and tomatoes while fresh.
Take care all.

I've been reading the news online - idle time! Now I need to get going as I've got a hair cut / colour appointment and it's over an hour away. The drive should be pleasant if the cloud lifts enough, seeing Arran is always lovely.
I hope that all are well and warm, I'm back in a woolly jumper as the heat has gone somewhere else. Hugs to all. xx

Morning
I think we’re due our last hot day before cooler and wetter weather arrives.
Yesterday involved a scan for DM, much gardening and plant pot washing, sorting out a new SIM for DF, fixing DMs tablet and doing some craft work. Suffice to say dinner was egg and oven chips which was easy!Have nearly got all the bedding plants potted, hopefully DM will feel like doing some today then I can have a proper clear up. I also need to balance on a sloping rockery to finish weeding!
Hope everyone has a good weekend. Best wishes to all that need them

Morning All
No sunshine here although it's quite bright but there have been a few showers since I got up. Yesterday was a bit drizzly on and off but it was a lovely evening.
Our event at school was quite successful, some of the local community came along too. It was about 4.30 when I left after clearing up - so much for finishing at 3!
Shopping, allotment 2 and some cleaning to do, the kitchen has already been done, just needs a hoover round. DD and family are bringing the spotty one for dinner as a change of scenery for her, I'll get her a magazine when I go shopping, it can be from the fairies!
Hope everyone is well and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning all. Looks hot and sunny here.
We're off to London today to do some walking but will change plans if we find it too hot. Tate Modern springs to mind, as I haven't been there for some years and it has a good cafe.
Our half term plans were rather scuppered by the youngest GS having chicken pox so we've found other things to do. We did go to a children's concert at a church in Bedford yesterday though, as we didn't want to waste all the tickets I'd bought!
Tomorrow we have a catch up video call with DH's sister and her husband in Sydney in the morning and then I'm going to an afternoon pub music session.
Stay cool folks and hop your day goes well.

Good morning all from a warm sunny Mehefinland
Probably the last day of' decent' weather for a while so trying to make the most of it. Potted on 160 aster seedlings yesterday afternoon, only about the same of pansies and nicotiana to do! Pease are coming on apace, and the climbing beans will be plonked in their final home later.
The house looks like a bomb has hit a cloth factory - there are bits everywhere1 The famous quilt was partially assembled last night - it's done in sections - and now covers the lounge carpet. Gwen was up to silly o clock working on it- and she says it's still not finished! We have to take it to the lady with the longarm quilting machine on Monday. Hopefully get it back Tuesday and then it has to be washed and dried ready for travelling to Dorset on Friday. No pressure lol. It really has been a labour of love - I have watched a lot ( i can't help) and it is a fascinating and complicated process.
On top of that she is going to give a talk on her particular form of quilting at our library the following week. She is the last person alive working in this particular tradition and is trying to revive the craft. So I've been designated ticket seller, general hand , and probably quilt holder on the night! They are blooming heavy!
Lots to do ,so hugs and spoons as always

morning everyone I will try and catch up on everyone’s news back from my holiday and it was good and not so good food entertainment and staff excellent we were informed when we got on the ship that we would not be going to the Norwegian fiords due to bad weather they were taking us to Oslo for the day we could get off the ship and have a full refund or accept and continue with the cruise my son and daughter in law came with us and they said we have taken a week off work and we have never been on a cruise and we have never been to Oslo so let’s stay on 2 days later the bank holiday Monday we arrived everything was closed you couldn’t make it up it took 2 days to come back but all was not lost the my family loved the cruise and are booking another 2 for next year the North Sea was like a mirror and we had temperatures of 23 degrees but I’m still not convinced yes I wasn’t wobbling about all over but I still had the rescue remedy and a feeling of been trapped I know I’m a wimp but I just feel panicking all the time I’m on I’m not so bad during the day but when it comes to night time I go to pieces I hardly closed my eyes . In other news the little dog has stopped ignoring me as punishment for leaving her the weather is nice all washing is done and put away I’m washing all our winter coats today and putting them away I have housework to do and the freezer to sort . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all
Bright and sunny here it’s meant to cloud over tomorrow and then lots of rain next week, the garden desperately needs it but I would rather have the sun ☀️ the first load is in the wm and another to go in after, I shall be making the most of the good weather and washing everything I can.
DD is off out for the day and night with some friends and is working a double shift tomorrow so we won’t see much of her this weekend.
I planted some gherkin seeds a while back, I have about 20 plants and the gherkins have started to grow 😃 we love the tiny ones pickled so I thought I would try and do my own I need to bulk buy vinegar and sort out some more jars, but I am looking forward to having them all winter.
Bbq tonight I have a load of tomatoes going soft so I shall roast a whole garlic bulb and squeeze the flesh out and add this to the tomatoes in some tin foil with butter and salt and pepper and cook on the bbq I’m also going to do some carrots 🥕 infused with coconut sugar and oil, I’ve done these before and they are delicious.
Camelot I hope little one is less spotty soon xx
Gers have a great holiday xx
Izzy shame about your cruise xx
I have some plants to pot up today and dogs to be walked later when it’s a bit cooler.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Happy new hair do and a safe drive there and back. I've been up since silly o'clock but next to nothing has been achieved, just general messing about. It promises to be another nice day here before normal weather resumes tomorrow and for the foreseeable future. Rain and more rain is on the way.
I have the cooker earmarked for a good clean today. I very rarely use it these days but something must have escaped a tray the last time it was on as there is a dried up sticky mess on the bottom of the oven which is going to take some shifting. But first the stairs need a vac as they are full of bits. Cleaning has taken a back seat throughout the heatwave! No shopping today as DS has been booked by his DP to do a couple of jobs in her shop. So shopping will be tomorrow instead. After my extravagant grocery shopping spree last weekend I have a much smaller list this time and must stick to it.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as always for all in need or want of them. Take care all, be safe x

IZZY cross posting and missed your post. I'm sorry the cruise didn't live up to promise for a variety of reasons. but you did manage to enjoy at least some of it. x

Good morning
A much cooler and more comfortable night, today is going up to 25degrees, the last hot day, I believe.
Yesterday DH went out to get big dogs food, and came back with ice cream and lollies, all crammed into the freezer. Today I really must clean out the fridge, with my new eyes I can see every little mark. I don't think anything else is planned, I'll check with himself when he's out of the shower.
Burgers in cheese topped rolls tonight, nice and easy.
Izzy, a shame about your holiday, but at least it was enjoyable.
Gers, in case I forget, have a great time on your hols.
Have a good day all, take care.
