hi,looking for advice on which is more important,1080p resolution or 100hz,i know i cn get tv with both but a bit out my price range?

I was told today the most important thing is contrast. 4000:1 is low and can look 'woolly'. 7500:1 or better looks great in comparison (if you want 10000:1 which is amazing you're looking at £1000).

forget the 'stats' they can be fudged by the company and aren't the be all and end all, two panels with the same spec can go into two different manufacturers TV's with different electronics in there and look drastically different. Just make sure that you watch the TV before you buy it - oh and watch it with the kind of thing that you generally watch be that live TV, dvd's, ps3/xbox, whatever. Personally I'd go for the 1080p but that's because of what I generally use it for.0
